An Army Soldier Was Killed And Seven Others Injured Due To A Road Accident

An Army soldier was killed and seven
others including two female officers had been injured and hospitalized after the Army cab they were travelling in from Pudukudirippu to MulliyaWeli area had toppled over at Kepapilaw area today (14).

The injured soldiers had been admitted to Army Hospital and Kepapilaw Hospital for treatment .

The deceased soldier and the  injured are attached to the Kepapilaw Army camp it has been revealed .




President To Declare A National Day Of Mourning If An Act Is Presented To Parliament To Remove Capital Punishment

If a  Parliamentary act regarding
removal of the Capital punishment  is submitted to the Parliament for the need of few government parliamentarians ,will be declared that day as a National day of mourning according to the President's Maithripala Sirisena.

Addressing a function held at Embilipitiya to distribute deeds among Mahaweli land owners President has stressed that If  such an act is presented to the Parliament it will be an excellent victory of criminals and preventing the efforts of building a decent society .

"People should be taken the leadership to prevent presenting an act of removing capital punishment to the Parliament "President has further said .

Two Persons Arrested With Rs.8.8 Million Worth Foreign. Currency Notes

Maligawatta Police have today  (14))
arrested two persons whilst transporting Rs.8.8 million  worth foreign currency notes in a Van at the Maligawatta Police road block.

The two suspects who are residents of Maligawatte and Kolonnawa areas  had handed over to the Criminal Investigations Department  (CID)for further investigations as they had given contradictory facts to the Police it has been revealed .

Maligawatte Police are conducting further investigations over the incident.
