A Pharmacist Was Arrested Over Selling a Hypertension Drug Seven Times Higher Than The Normal Price

Food and Drug Inspectors attached to
National Medicinal Regulatory Authority (NMRA)have arrested a registered private pharmacist attached to a private pharmacy in Bambalapitiya  (Colombo-04) last Wednesday (12)over selling the Hypertension drug "Losarten Pottasium "50 milo Gramme more than seven times higher price than the regulated price it has been reported .

The regulated price of the  Hypertension drug "Losarten Pottasium "50 Mili Grammes is Rs.13.22 and the suspected pharmacist had sold the Drug for Rs.96.42 it has been revealed 

The stock of the Drug in possession with the pharmacist was illegally smuggled to the country it has been reported .

The value of the stock of Hypertension drug taken in to custody is around Rs.one million and the suspect is due to be produced before the court . 

A Youth Fisherman Had Fallen Into The Sea From The Boathe




A 29 year old fisherman had fallen into

sea from his fisheries boat today (15)and disappeared near the Galle fisheries harbour.

The missing Fisherman had went to sea from Galle Fisheries Harbour on 03 Rd of June with 06 other fishermen and the incident occurred when another boat had sent to the middle of the sea to bring  the boat which the fisherman was in due to a technical default experienced by the boat .

 The missing Fisherman is a resident of Valahandawa area and Harbour Police is carrying out the investigations on  the incident .

Railway Trade Unions To Launch A Two Day Railway Strike From Wednesday (19)

Several Railway Trade Unions have
decided to launch a two day island wide strike from midnight on this Wednesday  (19) Demanding solutions for several service demands .

Accordingly Engine Drivers, Station Masters and Railway Controllers are due to be participated the strike the Train Engine Drivers Union has announced.
