Premier Ranil Wikramasinghe Returned To Sri Lanka After Visiting Singapore

Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe
Had return back to Sri Lanka today (14)after concluding a Three day private visit to Singapore.

During his visit Premier Wikramasinghe had discussions with sevwral government officials including Home Affairs Minister K.Shanmugam and Foreign  Affairs Minister Vivian Balakrishnen over various topics including combatting global Terrorism .

Sri Lanka To Receive Validation Certificate On Eliminating Mother To Child Transmission Of HIV And Syphilis

Sri Lanka is due to be received the
validation certificate on eliminating Mother to child transmission of HIV/AIDS and Syphilis from the World Health Organizatuon (WHO) this year according to the Sexually transmitted Diseases(STD) /National AIDS Campaign.

A high level World Health Organization team of experts is due to visit Sri Lanka this August to inspect the Sri Lanka's achievement on eliminating Mother to child transmission of HIV and Syphilis Virologist attached to the campaign Dr.G.Weeeasinghe has stated during a media Seminar held at Health Promotions Bureau today (14)in this regard.

All pregnant mothers here are being Tested for HIV/Aids in view of preventing Mother to child transmission of the disease he has stressed.

Since  2011 HIV Positive mothers who had been  treated in  STD Campaign clinics given birth to children without transmitting the virus to their children it has been revealed.

A Body Of A Wild Elephant Recovered From Wellawaya

A body of a Wild Elephant  who was
shot and killed by someone   had been recovered near the Maha aragama, Wellawaya area yesterday morning  (13)by the Wild Life officials.

The deceased Wild Elephant was eight feet high and believes to be shot and killed by someone as he was entered villages in search of food and destroyed crops it has been reported .
