Neary 500 Lanterns Made Using DharmaChakrya And The Cross In Saliyawewa Area Banned From Displaying

Nearly 500 Vesak Lanterns made by
Buddhist and Catholic youth in Saliyawewa area in Puttalam had not been displayed due to the ban imposed by Police  following an Opposition against displaying the Lanterns which showing Dharma Chakrya and the cross it has been reported .

Buddhist clergy in the area opposed the displaying Dharma Chakrya and the cross in Vesak Lanterns considering it as an unusual thing it has been revealed.

Due to the Police ban on displaying the Lanterns youth who made those burnt and destroyed some lanterns and taken home remaining Lanterns .

Sri Lankan Buddhists Celebrating Vesak Festival Giving Priority To Religious Activities

Buddhists throughout the island are celebrating Prestegious Vesak Festival by giving priority to religious activities in Temples and home .

In many areas catholics, Hindu and Muslim Nationals have also participated Vesak activities with Buddhists it has been reported.

In Catholic churches Vesak Lanterns displaying  Dharma Chakrya and cross had been displayed  showing peace and harmony among Sri Lankan communities.

Due to the Easter Sunday attacks main features of Vesak ,displaying pandals and Lanterns not held this year  and only limited number of Vesak dansala's conducted  throught the island it has been reported. 

SLFP Secretsry MP.Dayasiri Jayasekare Had Given A Statement To DIG Office

Parliamentarian and Secretary of the
Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP)DayasirI Jayasekare had arrived in Office of the Deputy Inspector General Of Police (DIG)in charge of Colombo Division to give a statement regarding communal violence Occured in Kuliyapitiya area earlier this week.

After gving a  statment  MP Jayasekare had left the DIG office .He was asked to appear in DIG office this morning at 9.45 a.m .
