Thirty One Suspects Including Four School Boys Arrested Over Violence In Koswatta Had Been Remanded

Thirty one suspects arrested in
Koswatta area (North Western Province )including four school boys over involving  in violent activities during curfew period last Monday  (13) had been remanded until 29 th of May by the Marawila Magistrate Court yesterday (15).

These suspects had been charged over injuring people and damaging houses during the incidents at Kottaramulla, Koswatta which killed a person and Injuring  another . They are residents of Koswatta Area .

Lawyers appeared behalf of the suspects had appealed from the Magistrate to release four school boys who were among the suspects on bail which was turned down by the Magistrate.

Security has tightened in the court as relatives of the suspects had staged a protest in the court premises stating suspects were  innocent.

Seventy Eight Persons Arrested And Remanded Over Creating a Tense Situation

Seventy eight persons had been
arrested and remanded over creating a tense situation and invioved in violent activities in North Western province up to now according to Police Media Spokesman SP Ruwan Gunasekare.

These suspects had been arrested in Chilaw,Nikaweratiya, Kuliyapitiya and Kurunagala Police Divisions in North Western province.

Search operations are continuing to arrest rest of the suspects regarding the tense situation  occurred In North western province using the video clips that have been.






Dan Priyasad Arrested Over Creating Tense Situation Released On Bail

The convener of the Sinhale National

 Movement Dan Priyasad who was arrested by the  police yesterday  (14)over disrupting National unity had been released today (15)on bail by the Colombo Chief Magistrate .

He was released on two personal bails of Rs.500,000 each.Dan Priyasad has organized a protest campaign in front of Wellampitiya Police on Monday against Wellampitiya Police OIC and UNP National Organizer in Kolonnawa S.M Marikkar.

Another Wild Elephant Had Faced A Tragic Death After Colliding With An Express Train

A tragedy had occurred  in  Minneriya
area this morning (15)as a Wild Elephant at Minneriya National Wild Life Park had been killed after coliding  with the Express Train travelling from Colombo to Batticaloa near the 144th Mile post at Batu oya ,Minneriya on Colombo -Batticaloa Railway line .

The Elephant who was around 15 years old had been killed on the spot due to the incident .

No action has been taken to punish Tain drivers who were responsible for Elephant deaths  on the railway lines as a result of not decreasing the speed of the trains near Elephant Crossings.

The Post mortem of the deceased Elephant is due to be conducted at Girithale Veterinary office .

35 Persons Arrested Over The Tense Situation In Minuwangoda Had Been Remanded

Minuwangoda Magistrate Kesara Samaradivakara had today (15) ordered to Remand 35 suspects arrested by the Security forces over creating a tense situation in Minuwangoda on Monday (13) until 22 nd and 29 th of May .

Accordingly 32 suspects out of the 35 arrested had been remanded until 22nd of May under the penal code and 03 suspects had been remanded until 29 th of May under the Terrorism Prevention Act  .The suspects had been produced before the Minuwangoda Magistrate today .

Due to the tense situation several shops mosques  and houses had been damaged .According to reports around 60 shops in the srea had been burnt by the suspects.
