Police Curfew Imposed In Chilaw Due To A Tense Situation

Police curfew has been imposed in
Chilaw Town area short while ago  until 6 a.m tomorrow (13)following a tense situation occurred amongst a group of youth following a post appeared in Facebook regarding another extremist attack .

A group of youth had protested in front of Chilaw Police Headquarters requesting take  steps to prevent another extremist attack after seen the Facebook post and later the group had told the shop owners in the town to close their shops it has been revealed.

Army personal have fired gun shots to air to disperse the group and Chilaw Police officers too assisted the Army in this regard. However all shops in the town had been closed due to the incident.

Police and Army are being deployed in Chilaw Town to provide security.

Politicians Who Have Responsible For Easter Sunday Attacks Should Be Expelled -Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith

All politicians who have neglected their
duty of preventing  the Easter Sunday Bomb attacks should be expelled from their posts His eminence Archbishop of Colombo Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith has said yesterday (11).

Addressing a special Holy Mass held at Saint Lucia's Cathedrel in Kotahena yesterday  (11)behalf of those who were killed and InJured due to the Easter Sunday attack in Kochchikade Saint Anthony's Cathedrel Cardinal Ranjith has stressed politicians have also responsible for the attacks by not preventing it after receiving information of the attacks earlier.

He(Cardinal) has also stated that he too had received threats to his life .

Family members and Relatives of those who were killed and Injured Due To the Bomb attack in Kochchikade Cathedrel had participated the mass and financial aid has been distributed among the families who lost their members due to the incident .

Ban Imposed On Two Extremist Organization's Responsible For Easter Sunday Attacks Not Legal As No Gazette Notification Issued Regarding It-Legal Experts

Although President Maithripala
Sirisena has announced two weeks ago that extremist National Thowheeth Jamaath and Jamaathei Millathu Ibrahim Fee seilani
Organizations which responsible for Easter Sunday attacks have been banned in Sri Lanka, These Organization's were banned temporarily  under the  Emergancy regulations and it's not legal either  as no Gazette Notification to ban them completely has been issued so far according to Local legal experts .

President has announced that these extremist organisations will be  banned in Sri Lanka and all their properties and activities here will be suspended but that applies only till the Emergancy regulations  are
enforce in the country they have stressed.

Once the Emergancy regulations has been lifted the ban imposed on these organization's too will be lifted Legal experts have pointed out .

FieldMarshal. Sarath Fonseka Has Refused To Accept Defense Adviser Post And Another Ministerial Portfolio

Fieldmarshal Sarath Fonseka has
yesterday  (11)told the media that President had offered him a Defense Adviser post of the government and another Ministerial Portfolio (Not the Ministey Of Law and Order )But he has refused to accept them.

FieldMarshal Fonseka has further said he is still keep his stand he has  revealed during his speech in Parliament and will not accept any  Ministerial Portfolio other than Law and Order.

Under present circumstances he do not believe president will give him the requested Law and Order Ministry Fieldmarshal has stressed.

Meanwhile a group of governing United National Party MP's is currently signing a petition to be handed over To President Maithripala Sirisena requesting to appoint FieldMarshal Sarath Fonseka as the Minister of Law and Order .

UGC Given Powers To All Vice Chancellors To Decide The Opening Dates Of Closed Universities

University Grants Commission
(UGC)had given powers to Vice chancellors to decide the dates of re opening  State universities and Higher Educational Institutes after tomorrow (13)if they are satisfied with the present  security situation.

University Grants Commission has ear lier closed all universities until further notice following the Easter Sunday attacks on 21st of April.

All university premises have been inspected in recent weeks in search of any suspicious objects by the forces. Meanwhile University of Peradeniya is due to be re opened later this week it has been reported.

Meanwhile primary classes from Grade one to Grade six of all government schools are scheduled to be re opened tomorrow (13)Ministry of Education has  earlier  announced. Other classes up to Grade 12 had re opened last Monday  (06)however for the whole week majority of the students were absent according to reports.

All Daham.Pasala"s (Buddhist religious schols)which were closed due to the security situation have been re opened today .
