A Large Area Of Land Destroyed Due To The Fire Erupted In Bal Ella Mountain

More than 40 acres of land has been
destroyed due to a sudden fire erupted in Bal Ella mountains at Gavarammana ,Keppetipola area this morning (09) it has been reported.

Due to the fire valuable varieties of Trees including Terpantine had been destroyed .

It"s hard to control the spreading of fire due to the dry weather conditions prevailing in the area at present  it has been revealed.

The cause of the fire has not yet been revealed.

Kochchikade Church Suicide Bomber Arrived At The Church From The Vehicle Belongs To Kingsbury Hotel Bomber -CID Informed The Court

The suicide bomber who had exploded
himself at Saint Anthony's church in  Kochchikade last Easter Sunday had arrived in Church premises from a vehicle belonging to the Suicide bomber exploded at Kingsbury Hotel  same day ,The Criminal Investigations Department (CID)has informed the Colombo Chief Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne through an imvestigation report .

The chief Magistrate has ordered the CID to send the parts of the vehicle which the kochchikade church bomber arrived in and later destroyed by the forces through an explosion, to the government analyst .

Chief Magistrate has also informed the CID to update her the progress on the tests carrying out by Government analyst on  this regard.

A Person Believes To Be A Close Associate Of Thowheeth Jammarh Leader Zahran Arrested In Kaththankudy

Police have today (09)arrested a 60 year
old person who is a close associate of Thowheeth Jamaath Organization leader Mohommad Zahran Hashim at Palliya Road in Kaththankudy in Batticaloa .

The suspect who believes to be has financial dealings  with Zahran is currently  being questioned under detention orders according to Police Media Spokesman 

A Person Was Arrested By Bribery Commission Whilst Attempting To Bribe Horowpathana OIC

Bribery Commission officials have
yesterday (08)arrested a 26 year old person who had attempted to give a bribe worth Rs.500,000 to Horowpathana Police OIC to get his uncle who was taken in to custody and remanded over the suspect's connections with Thowheeth Jamaath Organization leader Mohommad Zahran Hashim ,released on bail .

The suspect who is a resident of Mukkarawewa ,Horowpathana area had informed  the Horowpathana Police OIC that he will give half of the bribe yesterday and the rest after his uncle released on bail.However OIC Had quickly informed the incident to the Bribery Commission and arrested him through the commission .

The uncle of the suspect Mohommad Niyaz was arrested by the Horowpathana Police on 28th of April at mukkarawewa area over his connections with Zahran .He is known as a close associate of Zahran.

The suspected associate of Zahran was remanded until 14 th of May by the Kabithigollawa Magistrate Court after being produced before the court on 01st of May .
