UNP MP S.M Marikkar Has Submitted A Proposal To The Parliament On Imposing Capital Punishment For All Terrorists
United National Party (UNP) MP S.M
Marikkar has today (07)submitted a personal proposal to the Parliament to impose capital punishment for all Terrorists and those who are related to Terrorist organizations.
He has submitted this proposal during the Special Parliamentary debate held on National Security at Parliament today .
MP Marikkar has earlier too expressed the need to impose capital punishment over all Terrorists.

A 10 Percent TAX (VAT) Reduction For Tourist Hotel Industry For A One Year Period
Ministry of Finance has decided to
reduced the 15 percent VAT (Value Added Tax ) imposed on Tourist Hotels and Tour operators to 5 percent with immediate effect for a period of one year .
Accordingly the VAT reduction on Tourist Hotels will be implemented from 01st of April this year up to 31st of March next year (2020) in vuew of uplifting the Tourist Hotel industry which is being affected due to the Easter Sunday bombings according to the Ministry.
Finance Ministry has also decided to exempt all taxes imposed on security equipment imported by Tourist Hotels as a part of the concessions delivered to Hotel industry .
A concessionary package to uplift Sri Lanka's Tourism Industry submitted to the Cabinet has been approved according to Government .
Meanwhile Minister Eran Wikramaratna has stated during a press briefing held in Colombo today that Government will approve three loan schemes for large scale and small scale tourist hotel businesses in the country based on their earnings .

Police Have Arrested Gem Businessman Believes To Be A Member Of Thowheeth Jamaath Organization With 591 Air Rifle Cartridges
Panadura North Police have arrested a
Muslim Gem Businessman believes to be a member of banned National Thowheeth Jamaath Organization along with 591 Air Rifle cartridges ,A Bank Book with Rs.1.9 million worth deposit and few other items in possession at his house in Waththalpola ,Panadura today (07).
The other items taken in to custody from the suspects house includes two passports belonging to some other persons,A luxury Jeep ,some receipts and foreign currency notes it has been reported.
Police are conducting further investigations on the incident.
