Money More than Rs.140 Million And Assets Worth Rs.07 Billion Belonging To Extremist Group Thowheeth Jamaath Had Been Recovered -Police

(CID) has recovered more than Rs.140 million in cash and assets worth around Rs.07 billion belonging to the banned Extremist group National Thowheeth Jamaath which carried out the Easter Sunday bombings according to Police Media Spokesman Superintendent Of Police (SP)Ruwan Gunasekare.
Steps are currently underway to ban the assets and Bank accounts belonging to the group he has stressed.
Meanwhile around 73 persons including 09 females have been arrested by the forces during last two weeks regarding the Easte Sunday bombings it has been revealed.Out of them 54 persons are being questioned by CID and 19 are being questioned by Terrorism Investigations Division .

Forces Have Recovered A Training Center Of Thowheeth Jamaath Where The Final Rehearsals Of Easter Sunday Bombings Held At Nuwara-Eliya

have recovered a Training Center Maintained by banned National Thowheeth Jamaath Organization at a two storied house located in Blackpool ,Nuwara-Eliya area in front of a Major school today (06).
Forces have arrested two persons including the one who had maintained the house and the one who had supplied facilities to the house at Blackpool, Nuwara-Eliya .
Around 38 extremists including the Chief suspect of Easter Sunday bombings Mohommad Zahran Hashim ,other eight bombers of the bombings and 24 year old technical expert on Bomb making had participated the training held at the training center it has been revealed.
The extremists including Zahran and other Easter Sunday bombers have participated a final training before the attacks on 17th of April according to forces.
The raid has been carried out accordance to the information received by the State Intelligence Unit from the 24 year old Bomb making expert of the extremist group arrested by the forces at Seindumaridu ,Kalmunai recently.
Forces have also recovered three maps of Nuwara-Eliya District from the raided house .
