Four Urban Council Workers Have Died After Falling In To A Garbage Pit In Vavuniya

Urban Council have died after falling in to a garbage pit attached to a Cattle slaughter center at Thandikulam area in Vavuniya l(Northern Province)ast noon(25).

The four workers have died due to inhaling a toxic gas in the pit it has been revealed.

The bodies of the deceased had been sent to the Vavuniya Base Hospital and Vavuniya Police are conducting an investigations on the incident.

Public Are Being Requested Not To Be Panic As Search Operations Underway Island Wide

Police have yesterday (25)requested the
public not to be panic as Island wide search operations laumched by the security forces will be continued.

Police and tri forces are inspecting every suspicious person and vehicles entering Colombo and other areas around the country by placing road barricades Police Media Spokesman has stressed .People are being requested to assist the ongoing search operations carried out by the forces.




STF Personal Have Arrested Three Persons With 21 Local Made Hand Greadez

oh(STF)have arrested three persons with 21 local made Hand Granades ,06 swords and a Van in their possesion at Muthuwella,Modara area(Colombo)last noon(25) during a search operation.

The search operation has been carried out accordance to an information received by Colombo Crimes Division.

Colombo Crimes Division are investigating on  the incident .

Entry To The Tetminal Building Of Katunayake Airport Restricted To Passangers Only

Civil Aviation Authority has today (25)stated entry to the Terminal Building of Katunayake ,Bandaean
aike International Airport will be restricted to  air Passangers  only from today.

This step will be taken in view of current security situation the Authority has stressed .

Meanwhile the front road of the Katunayake Airport has been closed this morning (25)to inspect a suspicious motor car parked there .However no explosives recovered during the inspection.

Jammaithul Ulama Organization Said They Are Not Ready To Accept Bodies Of Easter Sunday Suicide Bombers

Ulama Organization has today (25) said they are not ready to accept the bodies of terrorists who had carried out suicide bomb attacks in churches and hotels on Easter Sunday .

"These terrorists were not belonging to our Muslim community.Sri Lankan Muslims have not involved in any terrorist activity in  past and history has proved that"they have stressed.

Meanwhile mother of the suicide bomber who carried out the suicide attack at Zion Church in Batticaloa has identified the body of her son it has been reported.

Number Of Easter Sunday Bombing Deaths Now Reduced To 253 From 359-DGHS Dr.Anil Jasinghe

Number of persons killed due to the
Easter Sunday bombings now reduced to 253 from 359 as earlier stated according to Director General Of Health Services Dr.Anil Jasinghe.


Around 149 injured persons out of 485 those admitted after the bombings are being still receiving treatment from  state hospitals Dr.Jasinghe has stressed.

Earlier the death toll has been estimated as 359 due to the damaged bodies received by Hospitals he said.

Only 06 injured persons had succumbed to their injuries after admission to state hospitals soon after  the bombings it has been revealed.
