Suspiciious Lorry That Entered Colombo Was Recovered From Wattala

Kotahena Police have recovered  the
suspicious Lorry under the registration number WP-DAE 4197 which believes to be transported bombs for the suicide attack in Shangri-La Hotel in Colombo on Easter Sunday(21) whilst hidden in   a house at Nayakakanda, Wattala Colombo) this evening(25).

Police have announced few days ago quoted State Intelligance  unit  that a suspicious Lorry  carrying explosives had entered Colombo .

The Lorry which was registered under the name of one suicide bomber who had exploded at Shangri -La Hotel ,was taken in to custody by the police accordance to the information provided by a suspect arrested  today at Kotahena (Colombo)area .

Police are currently investigating on whether there are explosives in.the lorry.

President Requested Defense Secretary And IGP To Resign From Their Posts

President Maithripala Sirisena has
today (24)requested Defense Secretary Hemasiri Fernando and Inspector General Of Police(IGP)Pujith Jayasundara to resign from their posts due to their failure to avoid  Easter Sunday bombings it has been reported.

This move has been taken by the President Sirisena after United National Party(UNP)MP Wijedasa Rajapakshe has made a written request from president today to remove Defense Secretary Hemasiri Fernando and IGP Jayasundara  .

The comments made by Defense Secretary Fernando regarding the Easter Sunday bombings during last few days had been  subjected to criticisms in  the society .

Government Schools To Be Reopened On 29th -All State Universities Closed Until Further Notice

Government has postponed the
reopening of all Government schools which was earlier scheduled on today (24)until 29 th of April according to Ministry of Education.

This decision has been taken after considering the current situation of the country it has been revealed.

Meanwhile University Grants Commission (UGC) has decided to closed all State Universities until further notice and postponed all university eexaminations.
