Five Persons Believes To be Members Of "Thawheed Jamaath"Group Arrested

Beruwala Police have arrested five
active members of "National Thawheed Jamaath" group who had carried out multiple Easter Sunday  blasts in churches and Hotels at Beruwala today (23).

Police have also taken in to custody publicity letters belonging to the militant group it has been revealed.

The suspects are residents of Ambepitiya,Kankanamgoda and Colombo areas.Police are currently questioning the suspects .

A Militant Group Has Carried Out Multiple Blasts In Sri Lanka As A Counter Attack Against Christchurch Mosque Attack-State Defense Minister

" has carried out the multiple Easter Sunday  Blasts targeting Churches and Hotels as a counter- attack  against Chirstchurch Mosque attack  on 16th of March   ,State Minister Of Defense Ruwan Wijeewardane has stated today (23) during a special one hour parliamentary session held this noon to discuss on current situation of the country.

Addressing the house State Minister has stressed that these blasts occurred as a result of a lapses in the country's defense structure ."Although State Intelligence Unit " has informed on the attacks earlier, details of this  only circulated among few officers .At a time that  president Sirisena was away from the island  relevant  personal should have informed me on this .Neither Prime Minister nor myself  have been informed on this. Not even Tri Forces commanders" he has revealed.

"Since some time back Prime Minister and I were not invited for the National Security Council meetings and need to inquire the reason behind this  " State  Minister has further  said.

Government Imposed A Seven Hour Curfew Island Wide

Government has imposed Police curfew again at 9 P.M today (23) for the third day in a row
following the Multiple blasts carried out by militant group on Easter Sunday.

Curfew will be lifted tomorrow morning at 4 A.M .

Meanwhile security forces are reported as carrying out search operations island wide .
