48 Hour Railway Strike Has Been Suspended

The 48 hour long Island wide Railway strike scheduled to  be launched by Five
Catagories of workers in the Sri Lanka Railways Department from midnight tonight(09)has been temporarily suspended by the Raulway Trade Unions following the discussions held regarding their demands with Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation Arjuna Ranathunge this evening.

As the Transport Minister Ranathunge has promised to give solutiions for the Railway Unions demands within one month period during the talks  ,Railway trade unions comprising of Train drivers,,Raill Guards,Station Masters,Controlllers and Management Supervisors have decided  to  suspended the strike it has been announced.

Railway Trade Unions were scheduled to be launched the strike by demanding solutions for several of their service demands including Salary anomaly problem.
