Government Hospitals Had Paralyzed Yesterday (08)Due To Nurses/PSM/Paramedic Strike

Government Hospital services including patient care,issuance of Drugs in OPD Clinics ,performing CT scans/X rays,Lab tests  and occupational therapy  have not functioned yesterday (08)as a result of the one day island wide tolen strike laumched by Government Nurses /Professions Supplementary To Medicine and Paramedics in Hospitals.

Due to this situation both indoor and outdoor  Patients in   government hospitals have faced enormous difficulties it has been reported.

Government Pharmacies (Osu sala's)have seen long queues to get drugs and essential lab tests and Radiography tests  of Givernment hospitals had performed through private hospitals  according to reports .

The strike which launched by demanding  solutions for 10 service demands has ended at 7 a.m today(09). 

Two Court Cases Filed Against Former Defense Secretary Gotabaya Rajapakshe In US Courts

Two Court cases had been filed in USA
Courts against former Defense Secretary and the brother of former president Mahinda Rajapaksha ,,Gotabaya Rajapaksha over the killing of former Editor in Chief Of Sunday Leader newspaper  Lssantha Wikramathunge  and Torture of Tamil National Roy  Sumanthiran it has been reported.

Notices  are scheduled to be served regarding the court cases for Gotabaya Rajapakshe  who is an American citizen and now at his residence in California on a vacation  soon according to reports .

The court case regarding the killing of former Sunday Leader Editor Lasantha Wikramathunge had fbeen
filed by his daughter Ahimsa Wikramathunge and the case against the torture imcident was filed by a Non Governmental Organization .

The former Defense Secretary Gotabaya Rajapakshe who is a strong campaigner to getting nomination  as a presidential candidate from newly formed podu jana peramuna for the forthcoming Presidential Election is due to give up his American citizenship in view of contesting the Election .

It has been reported that the former Defense Secretary had  sent relevant documents to United States  Embassy in Colombo to remove his American citizenship.However if these court cases begin hearing in United States the removal of his US Citizenship will be delayed further as a result it has been reported.

Dual citizenship holders ate not allowed  to contest Sri Lankan elections under the new law and actress turned  politician Geetha Kumarasinghe has lost her parliamentary seat recently due to the  faliure to remove her swiss dual citizenship before contesting the parliamentary elections .

Veteran Musician.H.M Jayawardana Has Passed Away

Veteran Musician and composer H.M
Jayawardana who was the husband of late popular singer Visharafa Malini Bulathsinghala has  passed away this morning (08)whilst receiving  treatment in Kalubowila Teaching Hospital  in Colombo .

He was 69 years old at the time of his death.The late veteran Musician Jayawardana who is the father of popular youth singer Kasun Kalhara Jayawardana had composed popular hit songs for veteran singers  as well as for upcoming talents .

He has composed araround 1000 songs during his career imcluding popular hits "Sanda  Tharu Nihamdai" sung by late Pandith W.D Anaradeva?"Kadamandiye Dola Ayine' , "Nawatanpola obai" songs sung by Visharada Nanda Malini , "Sayurak Nodutu" song sung by Visharada Sunil Edirisinghe and "Me Pinchi Rate" sung by T.M Jayaratne.

May he attain supreme bliss of Nibbama".





Seven Persons Injured And Hospitalized Due To A Road Accident In Neluwa

Seven Passangers had been injured two
of them  critically and hospitalized after the Van they have been travelling in toppled over the road in Ihala Lelwala ,Neluwa(Southern Ptovince)this morning(08).

The injured were admitted to the Neluwa Base Hospital for treatment.

The incident occurred when a poor standard  refilled tyre of the  van had exploded whilst transporting the injured who are workers attached to a Tea Factory to the work place it has been revealed. 

Motor Traffic Unit of the Neluwa Police has  laumched an investigation over the incident.
