Veteran Journalist And Presenter Daya Abeysekare Has Passed Away
Veteran Journalist ,Announcer and Actor Daya Abeysekare who was a brother of the late Lyricist Karunaratne Abeysekare has passed away yesterday (29) at the age of 80 .
He had presented the programme "Rupees and Senses " telecast ed over ITN and portrayed the childhood of late actor Prem Jayanth in popular yesteryear film " Sada Sulan" screened in 1955 .
His funeral was taken place in Borella Cemetery today (30)."May He Attain Nibbana"
Around 3200 Cannabis Plants Had Been Destroyed During A Raid
The estimated value of the Cannabis plants that had been destroyed is around Rs. 4 million it has been revealed.
Wild Life Officers attached to Wasgamuwa Reserve have raided a 1.5 acre Cannabis cultivation in Sudukanda area, Wasgamuwa and destroyed around 3200 Cannabis plants in the cultivation last evening (29).
