A Person Was Arrested With a Stock Of "Tramadol " Tablets

A 39 year old person had been arrested by the Puttalam Police with around 6600 Tramadol

Tablets  which cannot be issued to a  persons without a Doctors prescription due to it's similarity as narcotic  ,In his possession at Thiladiya area in Puttalam yesterday (29). 

The suspect who is a resident of Puttalam area is due to be produced before Puttalam Magistrate Court today (30).

24 Hour Water Cut Was Implemented Without Much Publicity ?

Not only majority of People in Colombo even Officials of  Regional Electricity Board Offices in the City Were  not aware on the 24 hour Water Cut 

implemented today (30) in several areas of  Colombo including Colombo Municipal Council limits due to a lack of publicity given prior to the water cut it has been reported.

As water is an essential thing in Human life ,What authorities should have  realized is that not everyone in Colombo District especially those living in slum areas where people are getting water from a common water pipe and used common bathrooms are not able to collect water for a period like 24 hours as they are getting water for daily needs too after standing in  long queues .

Three Persons Had Been Killed And One Injured Due To A Motorcycle Collision

Three Persons Including a Motorcyclists/Pillion Riders had been killed and one other  had been

injured and hospitalized after two Motorcycles had collided with each other near Wandaramulla Amman Kovil on  Eravur-Walachchena road yesterday (29).

The four  of the critically injured,  two Motorcyclists and Two Pillion Riders had been admitted to Batticaloa Hospital for the treatment where three of them had succumbed to their injuries on admission to the Hospital.

The deceased were 22,21 and 26 year old residents of Wandaramulla,Kaththankudy and Palacholai areas .

An Indian National Was Arrested With 200 Grammes Of "ICE" Narcotic

A 45 year old Indian National had been arrested by the Airport Customs Officers  with 200

Grammes of "ICE Narcotics in possession at the Katunayake ,Bandaranaike International Airport in wee hours of this morning (30).

The stock of "Ice" narcotic taken in to custody in possession of the suspect has hidden in a stock of Wedding Sarees he brought from Tamil Nadu in India.

The suspect who is a Businessman residing in Namakkal area in Tamil Nadu had arrived in Sri Lanka from Chennai  and taken in to custody whilst leaving from the Airport  after paying tarries for goods he brought from India.

The estimated value of the "Ice " Narcotic taken in to custody in possession of the suspect is around Rs.2 million .

UPDATED- Water Board To Implement 24 Hour Water Cut In Colombo Today (30)By Putting Public In Great Inconvienience

The National Water Supplies And

Drainage Board one of the poorest managed Boards in the country has announced a 24 hour water cut in many areas in Colombo District from 9 a.m today (30) to 9 a.m tomorrow(31) by putting people in great Inconvenience.

According to the Board this 24 hour water cut will be implemented in Greater Colombo area,Dehiiwala -Mount Lavinia Municipal Council area ,,Boraleagamuwa ,Maharagama,Kaduwela ,Kotte, Kolonnawa Urban council areas and Kotikawatta -Mulleriyawa Pradeshiya sabha area .Rathmalana and Soyzapura flats are also subjected to this water cut .

The ongoing  Electricity cuts and urgent maintenance work of pipe lines are given as the reasons behind this water cut.

unfortunately This  Water Board do not have enough knowledge to understand that  long hour water cuts are causing hygienic  problems among st a section of people in these areas especially slum areas  .

Even the health authorities  have turned  a blind eye towards this problem..
