A Mother And Child Had Been Critically Injured Due To A Road Accident
A 29 year old mother and her 02 year
old child had been critically injured and hospitized after colliding with a small lorry whilst crossing the road from a pedestal crossing infront of Public Health Inspectos office in Vavuniya on Vavuniya-Kandy main road last evening(13).
The CCTV fixed at a nearby shop had shown how the Lorry had run over the Mother and child after colliding with them according to police.Injured Mother and child are residents of Vavuniya.
Vavuniya Police have arrested the Lorry Driver over the incident.
The high speed small lorry was travelling from Vavuniya to Kilinochchi at the time of the incident.

All Budger Exprnditure Heads Had Been Passed Including President's Expenditure Head
All Budget expenditure heads including
President's Expenditure head had been passed unanimously without a vote at parliament yesterday(13)during the third reading of the budget.
Accordingly 22 Budget expenditure heads including President's expenditure head and expenditure heads of Prime Minister's office,Cabinet offices ,Supreme Court judges and Independent Commissions had been passed without a vote.
Earlier Bsckbench United National Party MP's had threatened that the President's expenditure head will be defeated in a vote.However prime minister Ranil Wikramasimghe had requested MP's not to defeat the President's expenditure Head.

Riot Police have fired tear gas and
water cannons to disperse a massive University students protest march marching towards Parliament at entry road to Parliament last noon (13).
A large number of Universiry students attached to Inter University Students Federation have attempted to march towards parliament by breaking the police barricades by demanding solutions for few demands including defeating of an Anti Terrorism act which enable to crack down student and labor protests and abolishing Anti Terrorism act .
Due to the protest march heavvy traffic had seen in Horton place and several roads in colombo yesterday.
Police have arrested the convener of the Inter University Students Federation Mahil Bandara Dehideniya who had organized the protest .

Cabinet Approved A Proposal To Ban Chewing And Selling Betel Leaves And Related Ingredients In Public Institutions
Health Minister Dr.Rajitha Senaratne had submitted the proposal in aim of preventing betel chewing among public to prevent spreading of Oral cancer caused due to Betel chewing according to Health Ministry.
Around 2500 Oral Cancer patients are being reported from Sri Lanka annually and in accordance to a survey conducted in 2015 around 26 percent among males and 5 percent among females of the age group 18-65 have been identified as non tobacco smokers .
Due to spit after chewing betel leaves caused enviornment Minister has stressed.
World Health Organization has named every ingredient in betel leaves mixture including Betel leaves as cancer agents .
