A Wild Elephant And A Cab Assistant Had Been Killed Due To Cab-Elephant Collision

A Wild Elephant and a 28 year old Cab
assistant had been killed and a Cab driver had been critically injured and hospitalized  after a Cab transporting vegetables from Dambulla colliding with a Wild Elephant crossing the road at Elephantpass in 14 th post ,Karuwalagaswewa on Puttalam-Anuradhapura main road this morning(11).

The Cab assistant has died on the spot after Elephant had fallen on the Cab  and the Wild Elephant had succumbed to his injuries whilst receiving treatment .

The Elephant had stood up following the incident and attempted to walk ,However soon he had fallen down after collapsing against a lamp post .

Veterinary staff in North-western province who had treated the Wild Elephant have attempted to save  his life however he has breathed  his last this noon it has been reported.

Although Wild Life Department along with police have displayed placards near the Elephantpass indicating the place ,Drivers are driving vehicles in high speed passing the area without considering it according to police.

Aroumd 5000 Kilo Grammes Of Rotten Potatoes Recovered From Dambulla

Council have recovered around 5000 Kilo Grammes of Potatoes not suitable for consumption at a private store behind the Dambulla Economic center last evening (09)it has been reported.

Workers at the private store were preparing to send the stock of rotten Potatoes to the market it has been revealed.

The stock had been destroyed after taking in to custody .

A Person Was Arrested With "Ice" Narcotic

Police have arrested a 27 year old
person with 2.100 Grammes of "Ice"narcotic in possession near Anuradhapura Railway station ladt evening(09).

The suspect who had  arrived  by Train from Colombo had arrived in sri Lanka from Dubai few days back it has been revealed.

He is due to be produced before Anuradhapura Magistrate Court.
