Aroumd 5000 Kilo Grammes Of Rotten Potatoes Recovered From Dambulla

Council have recovered around 5000 Kilo Grammes of Potatoes not suitable for consumption at a private store behind the Dambulla Economic center last evening (09)it has been reported.
Workers at the private store were preparing to send the stock of rotten Potatoes to the market it has been revealed.
The stock had been destroyed after taking in to custody .

A Person Was Arrested With "Ice" Narcotic
Police have arrested a 27 year old
person with 2.100 Grammes of "Ice"narcotic in possession near Anuradhapura Railway station ladt evening(09).
The suspect who had arrived by Train from Colombo had arrived in sri Lanka from Dubai few days back it has been revealed.
He is due to be produced before Anuradhapura Magistrate Court.

A Large Extent Of Land Belonging To The Saint Clare Waterfall Reserve Had Been Destroyed Due To A Fire
Around 100 acres of Land belonging
to the reserve of Saint Clare waterfall in Thalawakale area had been destroyed due to a sudden fire erupted there this noon (10) according to reports.
Due to the dry weather prevailing in the Central Hill areas these days the fire spreads towards Hatton-Nuwara-Eliya main road as well and the workers attached to Thalawakale-Lindula Urban Council had doused the fire before spreading it further it has been reported.The workers have also cut a large tree near the main road as the fire spreads towards it as well according to sources.
Authorities believes a group of persons might have lit the fire to the reserve and due to the hot weather conditions it spreads rapidly .
Environmental Organizations have requested the public to provide information regarding those who are lighting fire to the reserves these days.

An American National Had Been Arrested With A Firearm At The Airport
A 56 year old American National had been arrested by the Airport Security Officers with a 12
Bore Firearm in his possession at the Katunayake ,Bandaranaole International Airport last night (09).
The suspect who had arrived in Sri Lanka recently to see his mother residing in Wellawatte,Colombo from USA had attempted to taken his father's firearm illegally to USA by hiding inside his luggage it has been revealed.
The Airport Security Officers have recovered the hidden firearm through scanning the luggage and handed over the person along with the firearm to Katunayake Airport Police to conduct further investigations .
