A Parcel Containing 2002 Narcotic Tablets Taken In To Custody By Customs

Customs officers have today

(08)detected and taken in to custody a Parcel received by the Central Mail Exchange in Colombo ,Containing 2002 Methemphetamine narcotic tablets it has been reported.

No further details have been revealed im.this regard.

Four Chinese Nationals Had Been Injured Due To A Fire Etupted In Colpetty

Four Chinese Nationals including a

Hotel owner couple due to a sudden fire erupted in a Chinese Hotel caused as a result of a Gas Cylinder explosion near Colpetty junction this morning(08).

Three of the injured have received minor injuries and one had been admitted to Colombo Nstional Hospital for treatment .

Due to the fire 11 shops near by had been destroyed 03of them severely according to police.Fire brigade had later doused the fire.

Colpetty police are conducting an investigations over the incident .

A Person Was Killed Due To A Wild Elephant Attack

A 51 year old person had been killed

due to a Wild Elephant attack at Gangasiripura in Thalawa ,Anuradhapura yesterday(07).

The deceased who was a resident of Gangasiripura had faced this incudent whilst on the way home in a Motorcycle from chena .

At the time of the incident villagers have attempted to chase away the Elephant who had enteted the village in search of food it has been revealed.
