An Eightren Hour Water Cut To Be Implemented In Three Areas In Colombo

National Water Supplies And Drainage

Board has decided to implement an eighteen hour  long water cut in three areas of Colombo from 9 a.m tomorrow (02)by putting residents of these areas in an lncinvenient position to a repair work of a pipe line it has been announced .

Accordingly the water cut will be implemented from 9 a.m tomorrow (02) in Colombo -13,Colombo -14 and Colombo -15  including grandpass,Modara and Mattakkuliya areas.

During the water cut water will be supplied  to Pettah and Colombo Fort areas with low preassure it has been annoumced .

JVP Political Bureau Member Lal Kantha Had Been Arrested Over A Road Accident

A Political Bureau member of the leftist Janatha Wimukthi Peramuna (JVP) Former MP K.D Lal Kantha had been arrested by the Anuradhapura Police this noon (01) near Prison on Anuradhapura-Kurunagala main road after the Can he was driving in colliding with a Motorcycle ridden by Two females .

The two female Motorcyclists had been injured and hospitalized due to the accident it has been revealed.

According to the Police Media Spokesman Superintendent Of Police  Ruwan Gunasekara ,Lal Kantha was under the influence of liqour at the time of the incident .

Fifty Two Sri Lankan House Maids In Kuwait Had Returned Sri Lanka Due To Harrassment

Around 52 Sri lankan females who had gone Kuwait as House maids had returned Sri Lanka this morning (28) due to the various harrassments they have faced in houses they were enployed it has bern reported.

The group of House maids has returned the islsnd from a flight arrived in Katunayake Airport from Kuwait .

Out of the 52 house msids returned only 06 of them had completed two years in service in Kuwait and the rest had employed less then one year according to sources.

Due to the various harrasement they have faced at the houses including not paying their salaries and Assaulting ,the 52 females had fled away from their workplaces and arrived in Sri Lankan Embassy in kuwait it has been revealed.



Foreign Employment Bureau in Sri Lanka has provided the females a transport allowance  to enable them to going their houses .
