Riot Police Have Fired Tear Gas And Water Cannons Twice To Disperse A University Students Protest March
Riot Police fired Tear gas and Water cannons twice to disperse a University Students Protest
march organized by Inter University Students Federation (IUSF) by demanding solutions to students problems including ragging in few universities including South Eastern University whilst they have attempting to march towards the Presidential Secretariat without accepting Police orders this noon (21) at Lotus Roundabout in Colombo Fort.
Thousands of University students who had begun their protest march from Technical junction in Maradana (Colombo) this noon had arrived in Lotus Roundabout though Colombo Fort and as Police have blocked the roundabout with Police barricades,They have attempted to break the barricade and march towards the Presidential Secretariat it has been revealed.
At that time Riot Police have fired Tear Gas and water cannons to disperse the student protesters .However as the students protesters refused to leave the place Police have fired tear gas as well as water cannons and disperse the protest march.
Due to the protest march heavy traffic had been reported in Maradana and Colombo Fort it has been revealed.

A Person Was Killed And Two Otters Critically Injured Due To A Motorcycle Collision
A retired Station Master had been killed and two others had been critically injured and
hospitalized after the Motorcycles they were travelling in colliding each other at Jaynthipurayaya -11 area in Polonnaruwa last evening (20) according to Police.
The two critically injured Motorcyclists had been admitted to Jayanthipura Hospital and later they had been transferred to Polonnaruwa Base Hospital for further treatment .
The incident occurred whilst the station master had attempted to turn his Motorcycle to go home it has been revealed.

A Committee Appointed By UNF To Probe On MP's Using Cocaine
Governing United National Front (UNF)
had appointed a four member committee under the Chairmanship of Minister Lakshman Kiriella to probe on Ministers who are using narcotics including Cocaine today (20).
The committee had been appointed during the working committee meeting of UNF and it's comprising with Minister Lakshman Kiriella State Minister Eran wikramaratne e Parliamentarian Ashu Marasinghe and Lawyer Nissanka Nanayakkara.
The committee is scheduled to be handed over the report to the UNF Working Committee it has been revealed.
