A Person Was Arrested Whilst Excavating A Forest Area To Find A Treasure

Police have arrested a 35 year old person whilst involved in excavation work at a forest area in

Kanchikulam ,Vavuniya in view of  finding  a treasure last Friday (25) according to  Police Media Spokesman's Office .

When Police arrived other persons involved in excavation work with the suspect had fled away from the area it has been revealed.

Police have taken in to custody the equipment used for excavation activities .The suspect is a resident of Kuliyapitiya area .

Two Persons Have Been Critically Injured Due To A Road Accident At Kotagala

Two persons had been critically injured and Hospitalized after the Three Wheeler they were

 travelling in veering off the road and crashed in to the Bus Stand at Kotagala on Hatton-Nuwara-Eliya main road last evening (26).


The injured Three Wheeler driver and a female passenger in Three Wheeler had been admitted to Kotagala State Hospital fro treatment .

The incident occurred when the high speed Three Wheeler travelling from Hatton to Thalawakale had veering off the road whilst attempting to pass a Motor Car it has been revealed.
