24 Indian Nationals Had Been Arrested With Expired Visas

The Immigration and Emigration
Department officials have arrested 24 Indian Nationals who had stayed in the country illegally with expired visas whilst working at a factory in ingiriya area ,Nugegoda this evening  (25).

The 24  suspects are due to be detained at Detention center at Mirihana ,Nugegoda until the investigations on them Is concluded.

A Stock Of Explosives Had Recovered At A Beach In North

A stock of Explosives had been

recovered from Nedukuda Coastal area of Pasalai,Mannar this evening  (24)by the PasalaI Police.

Accordingly a stock of explosives including Jelignite sticks, Claymore bombs ,Rubber Boots and ammunitions had been recovered.

Bomb defuse squad attached to Police  Special Task Force  is scheduled to be investigated on the explosive stock under the orders of Mannar Magistrate Court .PasalaI Police are conducting an investigations over the incident.

Central Bank Bond Scam Suspect Arjun Aloysius Has Submitted A Motion To Court Seeking To Name Two Senior Central Bank Officers As Bond Scam Suspects

The owner of the Perpetual Treasuries Limited and one of the chief suspect's of Central Bank
Bond Scam   Arjun Aloysius who is now on bail had today (24) submitted a Motion to Colombo Magistrate Court requesting to name Senior Deputy Governor of the Central Bank Nandalal Weerasinghe and Retired Deputy Governor Ananda Silva as suspects of the Central Bank Bond Scam .

The Motion was submitted before the Colombo Chief Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne by the lawyers of Arjun Aloysius and they have informed the Magistrate that even the Presidential Commission inquire into Central Bank Bond Scam has named Nandalal Wweerasinghe and Ananda Silva had been  responsible on the Bond Scam issue through the Commissions recommendations .Auditor General too had stated through a statement made to the Presidential Commission that those two officers attached to Central Bank were responsible for the Bond scam.

Therefore the lawyers of Arjun Aloysius had requested the Magistrate to issue a court  order to name those two senior Central Bank Officers as suspects of the Bond Scam issue.

After considering the Motion Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne has informed the lawyers of Arjun Aloysius that this motion should be considered with the presence of an Investigative offices and therefor submit the motion again to the court on next court date of the Bond scam issue on 25th of February .
