A Threat Of "Sena" Caterpillar Spreading Towards Vegetable And Fruit Cultivation's


Thea's a threat of spreading "Sena" Caterpillar towards  Vegetable and fruit cultivation in   the country according to Authorities .

Now the Caterpillar which destroyed  "Maize" cultivation in most of the areas had spread towards vegetable cultivation's  like "Cabbage " and "Nokole " it has been revealed.

There' s a threat of spreading "Sena" Caterpillar towards fruits like Bananas ,Papaya ,Lime and Mango cultivation's  according to reports.

Seven South Eastern University Srudents Had Been Arrested Over Taking Photos By Standing On The Ruins Of Kiralagala Stupa And Shared In Social Media


Police have today (23)arrested seven students attached to South Eastern University who had taken photographs of them standing on the ruins of Kiralagala Stupa at Horowpathana area in Anuradhapura and shared in Social Media .


KIRALAGALA STUPA සඳහා පින්තුර ප්‍රතිඵලThe arrests were made after the Buddhist Information Center has lodged a complaint at the Police Headquarters yesterday (22) requesting an investigation over the students behaviour and penalized them for behaving an indecent manner at an Archaeological site.

Meanwhile higher authorities had given instructions to the Archaeology Department to  strictly enforce the law against suspects .

The Kiralagala Stupa located at Anuradhapura-Trincomalee Road believes to be built during 4th or 5th Century A.D .

Punished For An Act Of Sin -A Monk And His Driver Remanded Over Molesting Of A Buddhist Nun

A Buddhist Monk who is a chief
incumbent of a Temple at Padaviya area in Anuradhapura and his driver had been remanded until 01st of February by the Anuradhapura District Magistrate and Additional District Judge Janaka Samarasinghe  today  (23)over sexually molesting a 43 year old Buddhist nun at Anuradhapura.

The suspected Monk and his driver had been arrested by the Police after they had taken the Buddhist nun who arrived at a clinic of Anuradhapura Hospital on 16th of January, from a car and molested her .

The suspects had been arrested after  Buddhist Nun complained on them.She has been transferred to Ragama Teaching Hospital from Anuradhapura Hospital for a medical test.

The Magistrate has ordered the Prisons Commissioner to produce the  driver of the Monk for an identification parade on 01st of February. 

A Baby Elephant Had Been Recovered From A Cesspit At Kabithigollawa

Around three month old Baby Elephant

had been recovered from a newly constructed Cesspit of a House at Bellankadawela, Kabithigollawa area (Anuradhapura )today (23) by the Wild Life officers attached to Pandulagama  ,Anuradhapura .

The Baby Elephant separated from a Herd of Elephants had fallen in to a Cesspit and had been taken out from it after the House owner informing regarding the Baby Elephant to Wild Life officers.

The Baby Elephant who is now at Veterinary section of the Pandulagama Wild Life office is in good health and due to be taken to the Udawalawa, Eth AthUru Sevana shortly.
