Two Youth Injured In Jaffna Due To An Attack
Two youth had been injured and
admitted to Jaffna Teaching Hospital yesterrday (15)fafter a group of persons believes to be members of "AVA "sword group had attacked a group of youth attended a Puja ceremony at NachchiMar Kovil in Kokuwil Junction -Jaffna to commemorate Thaipongal day .
A group of Ten persons arrived in from five Motorcycles had attacked the youth in front of the Kovil with sharp objects it has been revealed .
The injured are residents of Kokuwil area .
Jaffna Police are gonducting an investigations over the incident.

A Digital Radiography Image System To Be Set Up At 20 Government Hospitals
Cabinet has given an approval to a
proposal submitted to hand over a contract to a Malaysian conpany to establish a Digital Radiography Image Conservation and Communication System and A Radiography Information system at Twenty Central Government Hospitals Island Wide.
According to the systems due to be set up in Government Hospitals, all Details of Patients will be stored and conserved and with a minimum cost and time can detect a disease of a patient by enlarging the Digital Radiography Images according to government sources .

President Sirisena Had Begun A Five Day Official Visit To Philippines
President Maithripala Sirisena
acompaniesd by a Sri Lankan Delegation who had left Philippines had arrived at the Capitol Manila this evening (15)for a five day official visit .
During the Visit Sri Lankan President is scheduled to pay a floral tribute to a monument built behalf of National Heroes in Philippines at Manila tomorrow (16) and hold bi lateral talks with Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte afterwards .
Several bi lateral agreements are scheduled to be signed between two countries following the talks .
President Sirisena is also due to visit Asian Development Bank and Internatonal Rice Research Institute at Los banos during the visit .

A NeW Medical facuity At SABARAGAMUWA University To Be Opened On 17th
The new Medical Faculty atttached to Sabaragamuwa University at Batuhena area in Kuruwita is scheduled to be inaugurated on 17th of January under the patronage of Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe and Health Minister Dr.Rajitha Senaratne .
Ratnapura General Hospital is scheduled to be Promoted to a rank of Teaching Hospital on same day to facilitate the clinical training of the Medical students attached to new Medical Faculty in Sabaragamuwa.
This new Medical Faculty built in view of expanding the Medical Education in Sri Lanka ,had been built with Laboratories equipped with modern facilities and A complete Hostal it has been reported.Rs.2000 million has been allocated for the new Medical Faculty from the Annual Budget in 2018.
A batch of 75 new Medical Students are due to be recruited to the Medical faculty and given registration under the first phase on 17th.
Professor NirMali Wikramasinghe has been appointed as the acting Dean of the Sabaragamuwa Medical Faculty.
