President Sirisena Had Begun A Five Day Official Visit To Philippines

President Maithripala Sirisena
acompaniesd  by  a Sri Lankan Delegation who had left Philippines had arrived at the Capitol Manila this evening  (15)for a five day official visit .

During the Visit Sri Lankan President is scheduled to pay a floral tribute to a monument built behalf of National Heroes in Philippines at Manila tomorrow (16) and hold bi lateral talks with Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte afterwards .

Several bi lateral agreements are scheduled to be signed between two countries following the talks .

President Sirisena is also due to visit Asian Development Bank and Internatonal Rice Research Institute at Los banos during the visit .

A NeW Medical facuity At SABARAGAMUWA University To Be Opened On 17th



The new Medical Faculty  atttached to Sabaragamuwa University at Batuhena area in Kuruwita  is scheduled to be inaugurated on 17th of January under the patronage of Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe and Health Minister Dr.Rajitha Senaratne .

Ratnapura General Hospital is scheduled to be Promoted to a rank of Teaching Hospital on same day to facilitate the clinical training of the Medical students attached to new Medical Faculty in Sabaragamuwa.

This new Medical Faculty built in view  of expanding the Medical Education in Sri Lanka ,had been built with Laboratories equipped with modern facilities and A complete Hostal it has been reported.Rs.2000 million has been allocated for the new Medical Faculty from the Annual Budget in 2018.

A batch of 75 new Medical Students are due to be recruited  to the Medical faculty and given registration under the first phase on 17th.

Professor NirMali Wikramasinghe has been appointed as the acting Dean of the Sabaragamuwa Medical Faculty.

An Assistant General Manager Of SATHOSA Limited Who Got The Promotion Through Fraudulent Educational Certificates Had Been Released On Bail

An Assistant General Manager of the sales section at SATHOSA Limited (CWE)  Gamini
Perera who had been arrested by the Colombo Crimes Division over getting the Post by producing fraudulent Educational Certificates had been released on bail by the Colombo Additional Magistrate  Saliya Chandana Abeyratne after being produced before the Magistrate  today (15).

The interdicted officer had been ordered to release on a surety bail of Rs.100,000 by the Additional Magistrate.

The suspect who had been interdicted by the authorities along with few other higher officers  recently after the Audit officers at SATHOSA had been  removed they have produced fraudulent Educational Certificates to get their promotions ,had been arrested by the Crimes Division officers following an investigations carried out on him .
