President's Proposal TO Declare "Thripitakaya "As A World Heritage Has Been Passed By Cabinet

A Proposal submitted to the Cabinet by President Maithripala Sirisena regarding requesting to declare  National Heritage of Sri Lankan Buddhists "Thripitakaya " as a World Heritage has been passed by the Cabinet today (14).

The proposal is now scheduled to be presented to the Parliament for approval .

President has already declared "Thripitakaya "as a national heritage during a ceremony held at Historical Aluviharaya at Matale on 06th of January .

Meanwhile Presidential Secretary Udaya .R.Seneviratne has today convened a meeting at President's Office in Colombo with   14 Ambassadors in Sri Lanka representing countries practicing Theravada Buddhism to make them aware on President's request to make "Thripitakaya "as a World Heritage.

Investigation Reports On Parliamentary Brawl Incident To Be Handed Over To Attorney General

Reports of investigations carried out
over the brawl incidents occurred at Parliament During two days in last November  are due to be handed over to the Attorney General Jayantha Jayasuriya in view of taking legal acation against those involved in the brawl incidents according to Parliamentary sources.

A special committee appointed  by the  Speaker Karu Jayasuriya  headed by  Deputy Speaker Ananda Kumarasiri and A Police Team have conducted an investigations over the incidents.

The handing over of Investigation Reports on brawl incidents  to Attorney General due to be done after Speaker returns to the country .

Meanwhile Election Monitors PAFFERAL has stressed that Transport Allowance had been paid to those MP's who had involved in Brawl incidents during the two days by using public funds .It's not fair to pay Transport allowances to such persons by using public funds PAFFERAL has stated.
