Governing UNP Has Requested President To Hold Presidential Election ASAP-President Want A Parliamentary Election
Governing United National Party
(UNP)Has today (08)informed the President Maithripala Sirisena to take steps to conduct Presidential Election this year as soon as possible.
Minister of Health Dr.Rajitha Senaratne has told the media recently Presidential Election will be held first this year and the UNP is ready to face it .
Although some have requested to conduct a Parliamentary Election this year it is not possible as need to get an approval of two third Majority in Parlia ment for that.
Meanwhile President Maithripala Sirisena has informed the United People's Freedom Alliance (UPFA) Parliamentary Group yesterday (07) the need to struggle inside and outside the Parliament to get a General Election this year .
President has also urged a Government of UPFA should be formed this year as well .

The Interim.Report Of The Brawl In Parliament To Be Handed Over To The Speaker Within Next Few Days
The Interim Report of the
Parliamentary committee appointed to Investigate on the brawl occurred at Parliament last November is due to be handed over it's report to the Speaker Karu Jayasuriya within next few days .
The Committee which met this morning (08)at Parliamentary Complex has already finalised the report according to the head of the Committee Deputy Speaker Ananda Kumarasiri .
Meanwhile according to the Department of Evaluation, The estimated value of the damage done to Parliament assets due to the brawl at Parliament last November is around Rs.320,000 the Committee has revealed .
