A Herd of Cattle had been  killed after

colliding with the "Uttera Devi" Train travelling from Colombo Fort to Kankasanthurai at Urukandy area in KilinochchI last noon (31).

Around 24 Cows had been killed due to this unfortunate incident.

A Youth Has Committed Suicide In A Prison Cell

A 26 year old Youth who had arrested over keeping Cannabis in his possession had committed

suicide at a prison cell in Katugasthota Police this morning (31) by hanging himself . 

The deceased was a resident of Pattiyawatte in Katugasthota and he was arrested in a previous occasion also regarding keeping in possession cannabis it has been revealed.

Katugasthota Police are conducting an investigations over the incident .

A Wild Elephant In Girithale Had Breathed His Last Due To An Unkind Human

A 30 year old Wild Elephant  located in Girithale Reserve at Polonnaruwa has died this

morning (31) due to a serious wound  received to one of his legs as a result of a gun shots fired by a hunter around two months ago it has been reported.

Although Veterinary Doctors in Girithale Wild Life Office have treated his leg wound several times it failed and the deceased Elephant lived near Girithalle Wewa painfully since two months according to reports.
