Ministers Harin Fernando And Malik Samarawikrama Had Resigned From Their Portfolios And Sworn In Again

Minister of Telecommunication, Digital
Infrastructure ,Foreign Employment and Sports Harin Fernando and Minister of Development Strategies, International Trade ,Science and Technology and Research Malik Samarawikrama who had sworn in their Ministerial Portfolios last friday (21 )had resigned from their Portfolios and sworn in again after removing one subject each from their Portfolios according to Presidential Secretary Udaya .R.Seneviratne.

An Extra ordinary Gazette Notification issued by the Presidential Secrerary has stated the Two Ministers had resigned from their Portfolios and sworn in again due to the subject change .

The Ministerial Subjects removed from their Portfolios Digital Infrastructure and Science and technology and Research had been handed over to the two non Cabinet Ministers appointed Ajith .P.Perera and Sujeewa Seasinghe respectively. 

Army Police Sargent Was Killed Due To A Road Accident

A 34 Year Old Army Police Sargent had
been killed after the Motorcycle he was riding in colliding with another Motorcycle at Madirigiriya -Nagari pura area in Polonnaruwa last evening (27).

The deceased Sargent was attached to the Panagoda Army camp and resident of Ambagaawewa in Nagari pura it has been revealed. 

Fifteen Bus Passangers Had Been Injured Due To A Road Accident

Fifteen Bus Passangers had been
injured and hospitalized after the Bus they were travelling in on a pilgrimage from Agalawatta ,Kalutara to Kataragama had veering off the road near uraniya Junction on Buttala -Kirinda  road today  (28).

Out of the  injured 13 persons had been admitted to Hambanthota General Hospital and 2 Persons had been admitted to Debarawewa Base Hospital for treatment.

The incident occurred due to the inability of the Bus Driver to control the speed of the vehicle it has been revealed.

Hambanthota Police are conducting an investigation over the incident.

President Maithripala Sirisena To Hand Over Ministry Of Law And Order Taken By Him To UNP ?

The Ministry of Law and Order taken over by President Maithripala Sirisena within his
purview recently is due to be handed over to a senior member of the governing United National Party (UNP) soon after the President returns to the island from Thailand it has been revealed.

President had left to Thailand for a private tour on 24th of December and scheduled to return to Colombo oi 31st of December.
