Three Non Cabinet Ministers ,Seventeen State Ministers And Seven Deputy Ministers Had Been Sworn In Today (21)

Three Non Cabinet Ministers ,Seventeen State Ministers and Seven Deputy Ministers had been
sworn in before President Maithripala Sirisena this evening (21) at Presidential Secretariat in Colombo.

Accordingly Dr.Harsha De Silva(Minister of Common Facilities and Economic Reforms) ,Ajith.P.Perera (Minister Of Digital Infrastructure and Information Technology )and Sujeewa Senasinghe (Minister Of Science, Technology and Non Research)had been sworn in as Non Cabinet Ministers and Ranjan Ramanayake (State Minister Of Roads and Road Development),Vijayakala Maheshwaren (State Minister of Education )  ,Faisal Kaseem (Stae Minister Of Health and Nutrition )and Eran Wikramaratne (State Minister of Finance) were  among the seventeen State  Ministers sworn in today .

Among the seven Deputy Ministers sworn in today ,Anoma Gamage had been sworn in as Deputy Minister of Petroleum Resources Development and Palitha Thewarappperuma sworn in as Deputy Minister of Social Empowerment.

Reduced Soft Drink Sugar Tax Will Be Increased Again -Health Minister

The Soft Drink Sugar Tax reduced by Illegal Premier Mahinda Rajapkshe recently will be increased again soon according to Minister Of Health,Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine Dr.Rajitha Senaratne. 

Addressing the Ministry Staff after assuming his duties as Health Minister at the Ministry Of Health this morning (21) Dr.Senaratne has stated he has introduced Sugar Tax to the Soft Drinks in view of protecting the people from non communicable disease Diabetes and Former Premier Mahinda Rajapakshe had reduced it as he has no knowledge on it's impact.

"I will increased the Sugar Tax imposed on Soft Drinks again .Has already informed on Sugar tax reduction to the President ,However he told not aware on this "Dr.Senaratna has said.

There's a drug shortage created in Countrywide and will take steps to solve it Health Minister has further said.

Prices Of Petrol And Diesel To Be Reduced From Midnight Tonight (21)

prices of Petrol and Diesel are due to be
reduced with effect from midnight tonight (21) Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe has today announced in Parliament .

Accordingly price  of a liter of  Octane -92 and Octane -95 Petrol will be reduced by Rs.10 ,A Liter of Auto Diesel will be reduced by Rs.5 and Super Diesel will be reduced  by Rs.10  .

The price reduction is being implemented as a result of the dropped prices of
crude oil in world market.

Vote On Account On Expenditure For First Four Months Next Year Has Been Passed With Majority Of Votes

Vote On Account for the expenditure of

first four months in next year has been passed by a majority of 96 votes today (21)in Parliament. The account has been passed as  102 voted in favour and 06 voted against it .

The account had been submitted to the Parliament by Minister of Finance and Mass Media Mangala Samaraweera and during the vote governing United National Party  (UNP) and Tamil National Alliance (TNA ) Parliamentari ans had been  voted in favour of the Account and 06 MP' s attached to Leftist Janatha Wimukthi Peramuna (JVP) had been voted against the account .

United Peoples Freedom Alliance(UPFA)MP's including former President Mahinda Rajapakshe have been absent during the voting.

Meanwhile Parliament Adjourned until 08th of January
