Police Fired Tear Gas To Disperse A University Students Protest March

Riot Police had fired Tear Gas and
Water Cannon to disperse a protest march of University Students attached to Inter University Students Federation this evening (20)at Lotus Toad in Colombo Fort.

 Police have fired tear gas to disperse the University  student protesters when they have attempted to enter Presidential Secretariet it has been reported

student Protesters have marched towards Presidential Secretariet by opposing Student Suppression  at South Eastern and Rajarata Universities.

Even after firing Tear Gas and Water cannons to disperse the protest march, Protesters have seen remain in Galle Face road this evening .



a Person Was Arrested With 153 Kilo Grammes Of Kerala Cannabis

along with Police officers attached to KilinochchI and Mulathivu Police camps have arrested a 32 year old person whilst transporting 153 Kilo Grammes of Kerala Cannabis in Mototcycle near his house in MaradaNagar, KilinochchI .

The estimated value of the stock of Kerala Cannabis taken in to custody in possession of the suspect is nearly  Rs.23 million it Has been revealed.

The suspect who.is s resident of MaradaNagar, KilinochchI is due to be Handed over to a KilinochchI Police it has been revealed.

UNF To Appoint MP Ajith.P.Perera. As Deputy Government Whip

The United National Front (UNF)
Government has decided to appoint UNF MP Ajith.P.Perera.  as the Deputy Government whip .

The name of MP Perera had been sent to General Secrerary of Parliament for the appointment by Premier Ranil Wikramasinghe   

New Cabinet Met And Passed An Interim Account

The new Cabinet Ministers Sworn in
before President this morning (20)had met after the swearing in ceremony held at Presidential Secretariet and passed an interim account regarding expenditure to pay Salaries of Government workers and to  maintain services for the first four months of next year .

The first Cabinet Meeting of United National Front government held in President's office ,Colombo  under the patronage of President Sirisena has lasted less then 30 minutes according to sources .

The Interim Account is due to be presented to Parliament for approval  by the  Minister of Finance and Mass Media Mangala Samaraweera tomorrow  (21).

Meanwhile Mimister of Finance Mangala Samaraweera has stated the government will re introduced the Fuel Price mechanism  .

The New Cabinet Ministers didn't pose a group photograph with President after the swearing in ceremony  this time as done in an earlier occasions .

A 29 Member Cabinet Of UNF Government Had Sworn in Before President -30 th Member Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka To Await Few Days To Receive His Post

A 29 member New Cabinet of United
National Front (UNF) government had been sworn in before President Maithripala Sirisena this morning  (20) at Presidential Secretariet whilst the 30 th Cabinet Mimister Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka need to await few more days to get his Ministerial post as President has opposed on giving  him a Cabinet post .

Among those Sworn in as Cabinet Ministers today  were Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe -Minister of National Policies ,,Economic Affairs and Youth Affairs Mangala Samaraweera -Minister Of Finance and Mass Media ,Dr.Rajitha Senaratne -Minister of Health, Nutrition and Indeginous Medicine ,Ravi Karunanayake -Minister of Power and Energy , John Amarathunga -Minister  of Tourism development ,Sajith Premadasa -Minister of Housing ,Construction ,Harin Fernando -Minister of Digital infrastructure and Sports ,Arjuna Ranathunge -Minister of Transport,Vajira Abeywardana -Minister of Home Affairs   and Culture and Gamini Jayawikrama Perera -Minister of Buddha Shasana and North Western development .

meanwhile Minister Of Home Affairs Vajira Abeywardana has stated the dispute Occured regarding giving a Cabinet post to Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka is expected to be solved with President within next few days .

Although six United People's Freedom Alliance (UPFA) MP's have joined the UNF Government recently non of them has received Cabinet posts as President has opposed on giving them such posts .
