SLFP Central. Committee Approved President's Statement On Not To Offer Ministerial Posts To SLFP MP's Crossed Over To Government

Freedom Party (SLFP)has yesterday accepted a statement made by President Maithripala Sirisena on not to offer Ministerial posts for those who had crossed over to the United National Front government.
Three SLFP MP's have crossed over to the Government yesterday (18)during parliamentary proceedings and three others had joined UNF after President has ousted Premier Ranil Wikramasinghe from his post last October.
The remain 21 SLFP MP's have decided to sit on opposition bench it has been announced by the party .
UNF has meanwhile announced that several other SLFP MP's are currently engaging in talks with the party to join the government.
UNF has already submitted a list of 30 member Cabinet going to be appointed to the President it has been reported.
Meanwhile Parliament which convened yesterday (18)had adjourned until 1 p.m this evening (19).

Opposition Leader Mahinda Rajapakshe And Several.MP's of His Group Are Being Faced A threat Of Loosing Their Parliamentary Seats

MP Mahinda Rajapakshe and several members of his Parliamentary group are being faced a risk of loosing their Parliamentary seats as a result of them being taking membership of another party although elected to Parliament from a different Party according to leader of the House MP Lakshman Kiriella .
Leader of the House Lakshman Kiriella has today(18) informed the speaker Karu Jayasuriya that accordance to the 99 (13) article of the constitution a MP will loose his or her Parliamentary seat within a month after MP shifted to another party from the Party that MP has been elected to Parliament.
Opposition Leader Rajapakshe and several.other MP's of his group who had been elected to parliament from United People's Freedom Alliance (UPFA) have taken the membership of newly formed Podu JANA Peramuna (PJP)by quitting UPFA .
Therefore Opposition Leader Rajapskshe and others have no right to attend Parliament sessions under the Parliament standing orders ,He has stressed.
Speaker Jayasuriya Had informed the Leader of the House that he will be looking in to that matter .
