A Youth Was Arrested With A Haul Of "Ice"Narcotic

A 26 year old Person had been arrested by the Colombo Central Divisional Law Enforcement Unit Officers whilst transporting 109.76 Grammes of dangerous Narcotic "Ice " in a Motor Car at Abeysingharama Road in Maradana yesterday (08).

The suspect who is a resident of Dematagoda area is due to be produced before Maligakanda Magistrate Court .

Two Persons Arrested With 13 Firearms And 1500 Bullets

Police officers attached to Law Enforcement Unit of the Mathugama Police Division have arrested two persons with 13 firearms and 1500 live bullets in possession illegally  at a house in Paththekade  ,Beruwala and BaduraLiya area.

The two suspects had been arrested at BaduraLiya area whilst transporting a firearm and few bullets in a Motor Car and later when the officers raided the house of a one suspect at Beruwala who is  a Gem businessman   the remained firearms and bullets  have been recovered .

Among the fire arms taken in to custody there were automatic firearms manufactured in Pakistan and Firearms use to provide security to VIP's  it has been revealed .

A 25 Month Old Child Died After Consuming Pressure Tablets

A 25 month old infant has died after
consuming Blood Pressure tablets prescribed for his mother mistakenly at Samoda gama ,Hambanthota it has been revealed during a post mortem held today (09)at Hambanthota General Hospital regarding the infant's death.

Hambanthota Police are conducting further investigations over the incident.

Three Youth Have Been Drowned Whilst Bathing In Two Rivers

Three youth of the ages 21 and 20 years
old have been drowned whilst bathing in Mawak Oya  (River)and Mahaweli River yesterday  (08)whilst bathing there it has been reported.

Accordingly  two 21 year old youth who were residents of Thalangama North in Malabe have been drowned whilst bathing in Mawak oya  at Ingiriya area and a 20 year old Nawalapitiya resident has been drowned whilst bathing in Mahaweli River at Nawalapitiya area .
