Appointed Premier Mahinda Rajapakshe To File An Appeal In Supreme Court Against Interim Order

Appointed Premier Mahinda Rajapak
she has decided to file an Appeal in Supreme Court tomorrow  (04)against the interim order issued by Court of Appeal today (03)  against functioning  him and Ministers of his government .

The  appointed Premier Rajapakshe has said he could not accept the interim. Order issued by Court of Appeal .

The power to interpret Constitution and the final decision making power of the constitution vested with the Supreme Court  he has stressed. 

Court Of Appeal Has Issued An Interim Order Against Functioning Of Appointed Premier Mahinda Rajapakshe And His Ministers

Court of Appeal has today (03)issued an
interim court order preventing 49 Cabinet ,Deputy and State Ministers including appointed Premier Mahinda Rajapakshe from functioning after considering  a petition signed by 122 MP'S  Of Parliament.

The two member Judge Panel Comprising of  chairmen of Court Of Appeal Preethi Padman Surasena and Arjuna Obeysekare had issued the interim order .

The two member Judge Panel also decided to proceed the petition submitted against Appointed Premier Mahinda Rajapakshe and his Cabinet from 12 th of December .The petition has requested the Court to.issue an interim order declaring the newly appointed Premier and Cabinet of ministers are illegal  .

 Judge Panel has also ordered the respondents of the petition to appear before court to  submit facts on 12 th of December. The interim order is valid till the end of the proceedings of the petition  it has been announced  .

Two Persons Had Been Arrested With A Stock Of "Wallapatta" At Katunayake Airport

Airport Customs officers have arrested
two Sri Lankan businessmen whilst attempting to smuggle 79.25 Kilo Grammes of Expensive "Wallapatta " to Dubai illegally at the Katunayake ,Bandaranaike International Airport this noon (02).

The two suspects who are residents of Colombo -10 and Colombo -12 have attempted to fly to Dubai through a Sri Lankan Airlines Flight carrying the stock of "Wallapatta "it has been revealed .The suspects have hidden the stock of "Wallapatta"inside their luggage according to Customs officers.

The estimated value of the stock of "Wallapatta"taken into custody in possession of the suspects is more than Rs. 4 million .

A Sudden Fire Erupted In A Three Storied Building In Battaramulla

Brigade are currently engaging in dousing a fire suddenly erupted in a house located in a Three storied building in Palawatte,Battaramulla.

No casualties has been reported due to the incident  and the cause of the fire has not yet been revealed.
