Transfer Of OIC In CID Nishantha Silva Has Been Cancelled By IGP
OIC of the Organized Crimes
Investigations Unit of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Inspector Nishantha Silva who was transfered by the Inspector General Of Police (IGP)Pujith Jayasundara last Sunday (18) on service requirement to Negambo Police ,has been reinstated in his post by the IGP as per the instructions of National Police Commission yesterday (19).
Inspector Nishantha Silva who is handling several Cases related to media personal including the Assassination of former Sunday Leader Editor Lasantha Wikramathunga and abduction of Nation Journalist Keith Noyer has been transferred to Negambo Police for normal dirty.
However as a result of a complaint made to the National Police Commission by Inspector Silva and several complaints made by Media organization's here and Amnesty Intetnational ,He was reinstated in his post by the IGP by cancelling the transfer as per recommendation of the Police Commission.

A Body Of A Wild Elephant Has Been Recovered In Polonnaruwa
A body of a Wild Elephant has been
recovered near a canal of a paddy field in Aselapura,Polonnaruwa last morning (19)by the Wild Life officers in Welikanda area .
Electrocution signs had seen on body of the deceased Elephant who was around 30 years old it has been revealed.However the exact cause of the death has not yet been revealed .
Wild Life officers in Welikanda are conducting an investigations over the incident.
