Private Bus Unions To Reduce Bus Fares By 2 Percent

Private Bus Unions are scheduled to be
reduced the Bus fares by 2 percent with effect from midnight tomorrow  (08) it has been announced .

During a discussion held between a delegation of National Transport Commission led by it's chairman  and Bus trade union representatives at the Commission today (06) Unions had agreed to reduce Bus fares by 2 percent as a result of the recent price reduction of Fuel according to sources.

However there will be no change of the minimum Bus fare it has been revealed.

Around 263 Dengue Patients Have Been Reported From The Island During First Five Days In November

Around 263 Dengue Patients have been reported ftom the island during first five days of November according to the Epidemiology Unit.

Out of this number majority which is around 75 patients have been reported from Colombo District according to the Unit.

People are being advised to destroy Dengue Mosquito breeding places which are on the increase due to the monsoon rain prevailing in most parts of the country ,in Their houses /Gardens /Institutes etc and keep a Dengue Mosquito free enviornment.


Meanwhile the Director General Of Health Services Dr.Anil Jasinghe has said that current political conflict in the country does not affect the Dengue Control activities implemented by the authorities.

Minister Ranjith Madduma Bandara Has Requested State Institutional Heads Not To Accept New Government Orders

Madduma Bandara has today (06)requested all state Institutional Heads and Inspector General Of Police  (IGP) not to accept the orders given by the newly elected Administration as they are illegal and powerless according to the Speaker Karu Jayasuriya .

Minister Madduma Bandara has made this request through a letter sent to the relevent officials under the letter heading "Ministry Of Public Administration, Management ,Law and Order ",quoted the facts contained in Speaker's letter issued yesterday , has stated that any official who have accepted  and follow the orders given by new Administration can be subjected to a disciplinary action.

Minister Madduma Bandara has made a special request from IGP to re- instate the security  and privilages entitled to legitimate Prime Minister ,Ministers and MP's as before.
