UN Secretary General Urged President Sirisena To Convene Parliament ASAP.To Solve The Present Political.Crisis

United Nations (UN) Secretary General
Antonio Guterres had strongly urged the President Maithripala Sirisena during a telephone Conversation held yesterday (02)to convene the Parliament as soon as possible and gold a vote and decide which Premier has the majority of support in Parliament .

UN Secretary General who phoned President Sirisena has stressed that UN will provide support to the Sri Lankan government to solve present political conflict through discussions with every relevent faction and parties .

During the Conversation President Sirisena has said he has appointed Mahinda Rajapakshe as New Prime Minister according to the Constitution.

However President has said through a Twitter message yesterday that United Nations has promised to give support to Sri Lanka without mentioning the UN is willing to help to find a solution for the current political  conflict. 

Leader Of The House Handed Over A No Confidence Motion Against Newly Elected Premier Mahinda Rajapakshe-TNA To Vote In Favor Of The Motion

The leader of the House ,Minister 
Lakshman  Kiriella has handed over a no confidence motion to the Speaker Karu Jayasuriya against the newly appointed Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapakshe at Parliamentary Complex in Battaramulla last evening (02).

In the No Confidence Motion handed over against newly elected Premier ,The leader of the House has said Parliament has no faith on  the newly elected Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapakshe and the government that appointed on 26th of October by the President Maithripala Sirisena .

The extra ordinary Gazette notifications  issued by the President Sirisena on the appointment of new Premier and government were not legally valid the leader of the House says.

No confidence Motion waa handed over to the Speaker after the Party Leaders meeting held at Parliamentary Complex yesterday.

Meanwhile Tamil National Alliance  (TNA ) has decided to support the no confidence motion handed over against newly elected Premier.

During a meeting of a TNA Parliamentary group held last evening in Colombo ,The party has decided to support the No Confidence Motion due to the way the current Premier Ranil Wikramasinghe had been ousted and appointing a person who does not have the support of a majority in Parliament by violating the Constitution the Party has said.

TNA has also condemned the act as an undemocratic one and also condemned the way the newly elected government attempting to get MP's to fulfill the majority by offering bribe money .TNA 's MP Vilayendren too caught in  this  conspiracy the party has stated. 

Former Minister A.H.M. FOWZIE Had Sworn in As A State Minister

Former Minister A.H.M Fowzie had
sworn in as the State Minister of National Peace ,Reconciliation and Muslim Religious affairs before President Maithripala Sirisena this morning  (03)..

He was the 08 th State Minster of the newly appointed government  to be Sworn in before president .

The Swearing in ceremony was held at President's office.

A Person Was Arrested With A Haul Of Heroin

A 48 year old person had been arrested
by Borella Police yesterday (02)with 3.20 Grammes of Heroin in possession at T-20 Watta area in Borella .

The suspect who is a resident of Borella area is due to be produced before Maligakanda Magistrate Court.

Two UNP Minister's Had Gone To Their Ministries And Worked

Minister of Megapolis and Western
Provincial Development of the Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe 's Cabinet Patali Champika Ranawake and Minister of Primary Industries Daya Gamage had gone to their respective Ministries today (02)and worked although Many Ministers refrain from going to their Ministries due to threats  according to sources

Mimister Ranawake had instructed the officials of the Ministry Of Megapolis not to follow any order made  by the Ministers and officials appointed by the President Sirisena after 26 th of October as they are illegal .

Minister has also informed  the Ministry Staff that those Minister's and s officers appointed after 26 th of October are illegal and following their orders is a violation of the constitution .

  • UNP Minister's are planning to meet officials of the other ministries and informed them too to not to follow the instructions of newly Appointed Cabinet members and officials as they are  other ilegal.
