Another UNP MP Jumped To The Presidents Side-News On Bribes To Offer For Jumping MP's - President Gazetted 12 Cabinet And State Ministers Appointed Yesterday

Ratnapura United National Party (UNP)
MP Dunesh Gankanda has today (30)joined the newly appointed Cabinet of President Maithripala Sirisena and sworn in as State Minister of Enviornment before the President at Presidential Secretariet this evening  .

With him around Five UNP MP's had joined president and sworn in as Minister's, Deputy Minister's and State Nimister's it has been revealed. The other UNP MP's that accepted Ministerial portfolios of the newly appointed Cabinet are WijeDasa Rajapakshe, Wasantha Senanayake,Wadivel Suresh and Ananda Aluth Gamage.

It has been reported that bribes  upto Rs.200 million are being offered for MP's who are willing to jump to the side of newly appointed government from other parties .

Meanwhile Presidential Secretariet has today gazetted the names of 12 Cabinet ,State and Deputy Ministers appointed by President yesterday (29).

President has today appointed 12 Secretaries to the newly named Ministries imcluding appointing HemasirI Fernando As the Defense Secretary although premier Ranil Wikramasinghe and his Cabinet named the newly appointed Prime Minister and Cabinet as illegal .

President Sirisena Has Told Foreign Ambassadors He Had Appointed a New Premier According To Constitution

President Maithripala Sirisena has told
the Foreign Ambassadors and High Commissioners in Sri Lanka yesterday(29)  that he had appointed a New Prime Minister due to problems had in previous National coalition government and the appointment has done according to the Constitution ,during a meeting held with around 40 Ambassadors and High Commissioners in  Sri Lanka at President s office in Colombo .

Responding to the president's remarks few Ambassadors participated the meeting have told they expect Sri Lankan Government to act according to Constitution and safeguard peace in the countery.

President Sirisena has said that Sri Lanka is functioning as a non aligned country and expecting assistance from foreign countries for the development  projects.


Opposition Leader Sampanthan Had Met Mahinda Rajapakshe to Request A Help To Convene Parliament -TNA

Opposition Leader and the leader of
Tamil National Alliance  (TNA) R.Sampanthan had been reported as met the newly appointed Premier Mahinda Rajapakshe at his official Residence in Wijerama Road ,Colombo this morning (30)and discussed on current political situation of the country .

However making a statement regarding the meeting ,Tamil National Alliance has said that Opposition Leader Sampanthan had met MP Mahinda Rajapakshe this morning not a Prime Minister and requested him not to violate the Constitution ,involved in illegal activities and help to solve the current political crisis by convening the Parliament. 

A Massive Crowd Had Attended The Rally Held In Colpetty Requesting President To Convene The Parliament

A Massive crowd had attended a protest
rally held at Liberty Roundabout in Colpetty this evening (30)titled "People's Voice For Justice " by requesting "Respect People's mandate -convene the  Parliament -Rallied   around Democracy "organized by United National Front .

Addressing  the  crowd of more than 30,000, Premier Ranil Wikramasinghe has said he will not betray the fight launched against president Maithripala Sirisena 's decision to sack him from power unconstitutionaly without achieving victory .

This struggle is to strengthen  democracy of the countery and will not allow president to take over the executive  powers by cornoring Parliament he said .This protest will continues by taking the Temple Trees as a symbol Premir has stressed.

The crowd later marched towards the Parliament.

Several Roads from Colpetty to Green path had been temporarily closed down this evening as a result of the Protest.

Earlier Colombo Fort Magistrate has rejected a request made by Colpetty and Fort Police stations to issue an interim order to prevent the protest campaign .
