An Indian National Was Arrested With A Stock Of Foreign Currency Notes

Airport Customs Officers have arrested
a 29 year old Indian National while attempting to smuggle Rs.10.53 million worth foreign currency notes to Dubai yesterday (26) at Katunayake ,Bandaranaike International Airport .


The suspect who is a resident of Chennai,India had been  attempted to smuggle a stock of Foreign currency notes imcluding Euros,British Pounds and Canadian dollars it has been revealed.

A Group Of MP's To Impeach President

A group of Parliamentarians are
planning to submit an Impeachment motion against President Maithripala Sirisena to the Parliament according to Minister Of Media Mangala Samaraweera.

The decision has been taken to impeach the President as a result of removing legally elected Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe it has been reported.

When asked on this ,Prime  Mimister Ranil Wkiramasinghe has said during a press briefing held at Temple Trees in.Colombo that there are proposals like that but most  importent thing at the moment is to convene the Parliament to show the majoroty .

Two School Boys Had Been Drowned In Wadduwa

Two 17 year old school boys had been
drowned after driftng away by strong sea currents ,whilest bathing at Palliyamankada sea coast in Wadduwa last evening  (26).

The drowned school boys who are residents of WADDUWA had faced this incident Whilest bathing with four other school boys it has been revealed.

A joint mission has been launched  by the Navy divers ,Police and villagers to find out the missing .



President Has Prorogued The Parliament Until 16 th Of November

Presidential Secretariet has today
(27)issued an extraordinary Gazette Notification under the instructions of President Maithripala Sirisena to prorogue the Parliamentary sessions until 16 th of November Whilest Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe had been  requested the Speaker Karu Jayasuriya To convene an urgent session of the Parliament tomorrow  (28) to prove he has the support of majority.

Although Premier Wikramasinghe had been requested the speaker to convene the Parliament tomorrow ,Speaker has agreed to do so on Monday  (29)it has been reported .

Currently the speaker is expecting the legal advise regarding the crisis occurred at present after appointing former President Mahinda Rajapakshe as the New premier.

Meanwhile United People's Freedom Alliance (UPFA) MP Wimal Weerawansha has today  requested Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe to leave the Temple Trees before 8 a.m tomorrow (28) before removing him legally .

Constitutionally Elected Prime Minister
Ranil Wikramasinghe has today (27)said he is still the legally elected Prime Minister of Sri Lanka and his Cabinet is still functioning.

Addressing a media briefing held in Prime Mimister's official residence "Temple Trees" in Colombo, he has stressed that the Gazette Notification issued by President Maithripala Sirisena today (27)to remove him from the post was an unconstitutional one with no validity .

"I have the support of majority in the pavement and to prove that Parliament should be convened as soon  as possible "he has said.Only through convening the Parliament everyone can find out who have the support of the majority Premier has said.If proved that he did not have majority in Parliament will step down as the Prime minister according to Premier Wikramasinghe .

Meanwhile addressing the media Minister Harin Fernando had appologized the United National Party voters for requesting them to vote President Maithripala Sirisena during last Presidential elections.

Health Minister Dr.Rajitha Senaratne has described the situation as a Constitutional Conspiracy and Minister Champika Ranawake has said it was a political conspiracy against voters franchise.
