Several Low Land Areas In Bagawanthalawa Had Been Submerged Due To Overflowing Of Keselgamuwa Oya

As a result of the overflowing of
Keselgamuwa Oya, several low land areas in Bagawanthalawa area had been submerged  last evening (25)it has been reported.

Keselgamuwa Oya had begun to overflow as a result of the heavy showers prevailed in the Maha Eliya reserve last  evening according to reports.

Water level of Castlereigh Reservoir too is on the increase as a result of the overflowing of Keselgamuwa oya authorities have stated.

Sluice Gates Of Kotmale Reservoir And Nachchiaduwa Wewa Due To Be Opened

Sluice gates of Kotmale Reservoir and Nachchiaduwa Wewa (River )are Due to be opened soon as a result of rising water levels of them ,The Disaster Management Center (DMC )has warned.

Due to this situation people living in surrounding areas including Nugawela, Gampola ,Mahawarura ,Ulapane ,Katugasthota ,Peradeniya  and Polgolla are being advised not to use the water of MahawelI River and vigilant over possible floods .

Due to the rising water levels of Nachchiaduwa Wewa ,People living around Malwathuoya are being advised to be vigilant after opening of the sluice gates of the Wewa. Heavy showers are prevailing in many parts of Anuradha pura District these days it has been reported.
