Former DIG Nalaka De Silva Had Been Remanded

Former Deputy Inspector General Of
Police  (DIG)Nalaka De Silva who was arrested this evening (25) by the CID had been remanded until 07th of November by the Colombo Fort Magistrate after being produced before the Court .

The former DIG had been arrested by the CID over the allegations levelled against him on conspiring to assassinate President, Former Defense  Secretary and a senior ASP(Assistant Superintendent Of Police).

Education Minister Had Instructed Education Ministry Secretary To Cancel The Circular Which Make Grade Five Scholarship Exam Compulsory

Education  Minister Akila Viraj Kariyawasam had today (25)instructed the Education Ministry Secretary to cancel the Circular issued on making the Grade  five scholarship examination compulsory .

Minister has made this move as per the recommendation of the Committee appointed to Reconstruct the Grade  five Scholarship Examination comprising with intelectuals including Paediatricians, Child Psychiatrists and Education experts .

The Committee which met today at the Ministry Of Education is on the view that the Grade five scholarship examination is badly affected to children's brain and development of their Charisma.

DIG Nalaka De Silva Had Been Arrested By CID

Criminal Investigations Department 
(CID ) had arrested the former Deputy Inspector General Of Police (DIG) attached to Terrorism Investigations Division  (TID) Nalaka De Silva this evening (25)after recording a statement for the fifth day over the allegations levelled against him on conspiring to assasinate President , former Defense Secretary and Assistant Police Superintendent.

The former DIG Nalaka De Silva had arrived in CID Headquarters in Colombo today for the fifth time as he was previously questioned for four days  regarding the allegations leveled against him.

The former DIG had been charged over conspiring to assasinate President Maithripala Sirisena ,Former Defense Secretary Gotabaya Rajapakshe and Assistant Superintendent of Police Prasanna De Alwis .CID had recorded evidences from a large number of people including from two senior Deputy Inspector General Of Police Over the incident.

Former DIG is due to be produced before the Colombo Fort Magistrate. 

Three Prisons In Colombo To Receive STF Security

Special Police Task Force Personal (STF)
are due to be recruited for security of Three Prisons in Colombo ,Mahara ,Welikada and Magazine prisons from today (25)and Tomorrow (26 ) onwards under a programme to provide STF Personal for security to every Prison in the country according to Prison Reforms Ministry .

Accordingly ,The STF personal will be used to provide security outside these  Prisons and to check people coming from outside to prisons it has been revealed.

Under the Programme STF Personal have been recruited to provide security to  Agunakolapalassa Prison for the first time last week  and some prison inmates there had launched a protest campaign against it .
