Five Families In Norwood Have Been Evacuated From Their Houses Due To A Landslide Threat

Members of five families residing in
New Wally area at Norwood (Up-country ) have been removed from their houses permanently by the authorities last night (08) as their houses are at risk of landslides it has been reported.

Earlier National Building Research Organization (NBRO)has requested the above families to evacuate from their houses permanently  as the houses already have cracks and at risk of Collapsing in to the Castlereagh Reservoir .

A Soil Mound located above these houses too at risk of Landslides it has been reported .

The five families evacuated from their houses are now located at their relatives houses temporarily and authorities are considering to provide them with a suitable land at Norwood area to build houses. 

Suspected Female Doctor Who Was Arrested And Remanded Over A Death Of An Inspector ,Had Been Further Remanded

The 39 year old Female doctor who was arrested and remanded over the death
of a Police Inspector who died after his vehicle and the vehicle driven by the doctor had  collided each other on 30 th of September ,has been further remanded until 16th of October by the Nugegoda Magistrate Court today (09) .

The suspected female doctor who is currently receiving treatment at Kalubowila Teaching Hospital for few abrasions  since the accident has been produced before the court today .

Although Police have found that the suspected female doctor was under the influence of liquor at the time of the accident through a Baloon Test a doctor treading at Kalubowila Hospital has stated that the suspected doctor was not under the influence of liquor as no snell of liquor came from her mouth after admission to the Hospital following the accident .

The female doctor is a Medical Specialist attached to Diabetes Unit of Ratnapura General Hospital.

An Injured Wild Elephant Treated At Hondawelpokunawewa Reserve Has Died

An injured Wild Elephant recovered
from a reserve near Honda welpokuna Wewa at Hambanthota has died this morning (09) whilst receiving treatment for his injured rare foot it has been reported.

A Team of Veterinary Medical Officers attached to Udawalawa Ath Athuru Sevana had begun treating the injured Elephant on 05 th of October after bwing informed by the villagers and later the Elephant had left to NagaraWewa  reserve .

Veterinary Medical Team had also treated the Elephant there however he had succumbed to his injuries this morning it has been revealed.

The cause of the death of the Wild Elephant has been identified as an illness due to the  injury received to one of his right hand side rare foot caused due to a breaking bone the post mortem report has been revealed.
