A Wild Elephant Responsible For Several Human Deaths And Property Damages Has Been Captured In Dimbulagala

A Wild Elephant who was responsible
for several human deaths and  property damages  in Dimbulagala area has been captured by the Wild Life officers in Polonnaruwa at Ellewewa area in Dimbulagala on last Wednesday  (03)evening after a Three day operation .

The Wild Elephant who is around 45 years old  was captured by the Wild Life officers with the assistance of residents of the area .

He was later transported to Elephant Conservation Center at Horowpathana by an open Truck it has been reported.

SIx Students Have Been Admitted To Hospital Due To Falling Sick After Consuming Losingers

Six stidents studying at Grade six and seven of Katuwana National School had fallen sick and hospitalized after consuming a kind of Losinger bought from a near by shop this morning (04).

The students who have  developed symptoms like fainting ,Vomatting and additiveness have been admitted to Katuwana Hospital for treatment.

The principal of the school had complaint on the incident to Katuwana Police  .

Public Health Inspectors in Hambanthota and Matsra have removed all the Losingers imported from China which caused the incident , from the shop according to reports

Two Persons Arrested With A Haul Of Heroin

Police officers attached to Organized
Crimes Prevention Division have arrested two 23 year old youth with 249 Grammes of Heroin in their possession at Gabada road ,Kotahana yesterday  (03)

The youth have attempted to  transport the Heroin by a Van at the time of arrest.

The suspects who are residents of Kimbulaela area are due to be produced before the court.

A Couple Was Arrested With 266 Illegal Cigarette Cartons In Possession

Airport Customs officers have arrested
a  couple who had arrived at Katunayake Airport From Kuwait via Dubai ,While attempting to smuggle 266 Cigarette Cartons containing 53,200 Foreign Manufactured Cigarette sticks illegally to the country this morning (04) at Katunayake, Bandaranaike International Airport.

The Couple including 45 year old husband and 40 year old wife are involved in Business at Kalmunai area and have hidden the Cigarette Cartons inside their luggage it has been revealed.

The estimated value of the stock of Cigarette sticks taken into custody in possession of the couple is around Rs.2.66 million.
