CEO Of Sri Lanka Cricket Ashley De Silva Has Given A Statement To CID On A Financial Fraud
The Chief Executive Officer(CEO) of the
Sri Lanka Cricket Ashley De Silva has today (04)given a statement to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID)regarding a case on higher Officer at the financial Division of Sri Lanka Cricket attempting to deposit US Dollars 5.5 million received by the Cricket Board to his personal account in Hong Kong .
Another four officials attached to Sri Lanka Cricket accompanied the CEO to the CID.
The money was received by the Sri Lanka Cricket over selling telecasting rights to a Company for the forthcoming Sri Lanka -England Cricket series .
A higher official attached to Finance Division at Sri Lanka Cricket has been suspended and his room was sealed over the incident .

A Person Was Arrested With 100 Grammes Of "Ice" Narcotic In His Possession
Katunayake Airport Police have today
(04)arrested a 22 year old Sri Lankan Passanger arrived in from Chennai, South India with around 100 Grammes of powerful "Ice" Narcotic in his possession at the Katunayake International Airport .
The suspect who is a resident of Grand pass area is a frequent traveller to Chennai to bring textile products from there and he has hidden the haul of Narcotic inside his luggage it has been revealed.
The estimated value of the haul of Narcotic taken in to custody in possession of the suspect is more than Rs.one million it has been reported.
The arrest was made as per an information received by the Katunayake Police .

A Fire Erupted At Bolgoda Damaged A Chinese Company Store
A large number of goods have been
destroyed due to a fire erupted at a Store belonging to a Chinese Company at Bolgoda area on Bandaragama-Panadura road early this morning (04).
The fire Brigade attached to Horana Pradishiya Sabha had doused the fire after struggling for few hours.
Electricity leak has been identified as the cause of the fire and no casualties have been reported due to it.
The estimated Value of the damage caused due to this incident has not yet been revealed.

Two Persons Have Been Critically Injured Due To Lorry-Train Collision At Hikkaduwa Railway Crossing
Two persons have been critically
injured and hospitalized after the Lorry they were travelling in colliding with an Express Train travelling from Matara to Vavuniya this evening (04)at an unprotected Railway crossing in Wewala,Hikkaduwa area.
The two critically injured have been admitted to Karapitiya Teaching Hospital for treatment.
The Lorry which collided with the Train had dragged away with the Train for few hundred meters ahead and several Telephone posts and assets have been damaged as a result it has been revealed.
The Lorry which was belonging to a PasYala Ayurveda Company was severely damaged due to the accident according to Hikkaduwa Police.
Residents of the area have requested the authorities to fix an automatic Gates at the Railway crossing to prevent recurrance of this nature in future .
Train Services at Coastal Railway line are being delayed as a result of the incident the Railway Control Room has announced.
