Colombo Fort Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne has today (03)re issued open warrants to arrest the former Sri Lankan Ambassador to USA Jaliya Wikramasuriya who was charged over misusing state funds worth more than Rs.50 million during the previous regime when purchasing of a new building to Sri Lankan Embassy in USA and currently avoiding the court.
Colombo Fort Magistrate has recently issued open warrants to arrest the former Ambassador to USA who is in hiding abroad and produced him before the court .
The Magistrate has also issued warrants to the wife and cousin sister of former Sri Lankan Ambassador who had signed the Bail Application behalf of the suspect.
been Killed after the Three Wheeler they were travelling in colliding with a Tipper Truck travelling from Hungama to Middeniya area at Murungaswewa on.Middeniya-Hungama road today (03).
The Three Wheeler was driven by the deceased female according to Police.The deceased female and her child were residents in Tangalle .
Police have arrested the Tipper Truck driver regarding the incident.
All the sluice gates of Upper Kotmale Reservoir have been opened and Landslide warning have been issued to seven Provincial secretariats in Ratnapura today (03)due to the heavy showers prevailing in the areas according to Disaster Management Center and National Building Research Organization.
Accordingly as a result of the opening of all sluice gates belongs to Upper Kotmale Reservoir due to rising water levels of the Reservoir following the heavy showers, Water level in Kotmale Oya had risen and authorities have warned the residents living around Oya to be vigilant over possible floods .Water level of Saint Clare water falls too had risen as a result of opening the Sluice gates of Upper Kotmale Reservoir it gas been revealed.
Meanwhile National Building Research Organization has issued a 24 hour Landslide warning to seven Provincial secretariat s in Ratnapura including Balangoda,Ayagama,Imbulpe ,Nivithigala,Elapatha ,Ratnapura areas as a result of the heavy showers prevailed in these areas.
Colombo Magazine and Colombo Main Remand Prisons have been launched a food boycott since this morning (03) by demanding solutions for several of their demands including filing legal cases against them at courts as soon as possible .
Accordingly fourty Three LTTE Suspects in Colombo Magazine Remand Prison and three suspects in Colombo Remand Prison boycotting the food providing to them by Prison Authorities sinice this morning .
These LTTE Suspects have launched a similar food boycott on a previous occassion also.
