Entry Road To Colombo -Katunayake Express Highway To Be Closed For Sixteen Days

The entry road to Colombo -Katunayake Express Highway near Paliyagoda Roundabout wil be temporarily closed down for sixteen days from 04 th of October to 20 th of October due to the construction work of New Kelaniya Bridge Project it has been announced .

Vehicles arrived in from Japanese Friendship Bridge can enter to Express Highway at the entry at Colombo -Negambo road and Vehicles arrived in from Paliyagoda can access to the Express Highway from Thorana Junction entry at Colombo -Kandy Road.

Prime Minister Wikramasinghe To Leave Norway For A Three Day Official Tour Tomorrow (03)

due to leave for a three day official visit to Norway tomorrow (03).

Prime Minister who will accompanying Minister of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Vijith Wijayamuni Soyza and MP Kavinda Jayawardana for the tour due to meet Norwegian Prime Minister and other top officials in Norway and hold bi- lateral talks

After the Norwegian Tour Prime Minister Wikramasinghe is due to leave for London to deliver a lecture at Oxford University.

Two Persons Have Been Arrested With 1.18 Kilo Grammes Of Hashees In Their Possession

Two Sri Lankans have been arrested by

the Airport Customs with
1.18 Kilo Grammes of Hashees Narcotic in their possession at Katunayake ,Bandaranaike International Airport on their arrival last morning (01).

The two suspects 41 and 37 year old residents of Katugasthota and Colombo areas who had arrived in from India, have been handed over to the Police Anti Narcotic Unit for further investigations.

Police Anti Narcotic Unit officials have produced them before the Negambo Magistrate Court today (02) and obtained a detention order to detain them for questioning over the incident until 07th of October .

Three Persons Have Been Injured Due To A Road Accident

A male Nurse Officer attached to

Badulla General Hospital and his Mother and father have been injured and hospitalized after the Motor Car they were travelling in toppled over to a precipice around 200 feet deep this evening (02) at 10th post in Damodara on Badulla-Bandarawela main road.

The injured have been admitted to Badulla General Hospital for treatment.

The incident occurred at a time where a heavy rain fall has been reported whilst the Motor Car was travelling from Badulla to Embilipitiya according to Ella Police.The cause of the accident has not yet been revealed.
