Minister Of Law And Order Has Ordered A Five Member Delegation Including IGP Not To Attend A Special.Workshop At Scotland Yard Police Due To A Probe

Madduma Bandara has instructed a five member team including Inspector General Of Police (IGP)Pujith Jayasundara not to attend the Special Workshop scheduled to be held from 01st to 07th of October at Scotland Yard Police in Britain on how to develop the Community Police concept and reforming the Police .

The Law and Order Minister's instructions came as per the advise of Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe as it will not be fair for IGP to attend the Workshop under an enviornment which an inquiry is being held against him at present Prime Minister has stated.

An inquiry against IGP Pujith Jayasundara is being conducted by a Three Member special committee over an allegation leveled against him over accepting Rs.1.2 million as a bribe from the head of Trinity Collage ,Kandy .

Along with the IGP ,another four members including Deputy Minister of Law and Order Nalin Bandara are being scheduled to leave for the seminar at Scotland Yard Police. 

Twenty Two Newly Hatched Snakes Have Been Recovered From A House At Minneriya

Minneriya -Polonnaruwa have recovered 22 newly hatched snakes  in their house both yesterday (29) and today (30) it has been reported .

Accordingly 14 newly hatched snakes have been recovered yesterday (29)and 8 snakes have been recovered within today at the house .

After being informed the Veterinary doctors attached to the Veterinary unit of the Girithale Wild Life office had arrived at house and taken the group of snakes with them.The snakes were later released to the Somawathiya National Wild Life Park.

A Police Inspector Was Killed Due To A Motor Car Collision At Boralesgamuwa -Drunken Female Doctor Was Ordered To Remand Over The Incident

A 51 year old Police Inspector attached
to the Police Field Office Headquarters  was killed and his wife and 8 year old son have been injured and hospitalized after the Motor Car they were travelling in colliding with a high speed Motor Car arrived in front driven by a female Specialist Doctor at Wikramaratna Road in  Boralesgamuwa  in the wee hours of this morning (30).

The injured wife and son of the deceased Police Inspector along with the female Doctor who was also injured due to the incident have been admitted to the Kalubowila Teaching Hospital for treatment.

The incident occurred when the Motor Car driven by deceased Police Inspector Travelling from Biralesgamuwa to Colombo was collided with the Motor Car driven by Female Doctor travelling from Colombo to Piliyandala area it has been revealed.

The Female Specialist Doctor who was under the influence of liquor at the time of the accident has driven the  vehicle in high speed it has been reported.

As the female Doctor was responsible gorgeous the incident Gangodawila Magistrate has visited the doctor at the Kalubowila Teaching Hospital today and ordered to Remand her over the incident .The suspected doctor is currently receiving treatment under Police protection.

The suspected female doctor is attached to the Diabetes Unit of the Ratnapura General Hospital and faced this incident on the way her house at Piliyandala after visiting a night club at Mount Lavinia according to the Police .

The deceased Police Inspector  was also the coach of the Police Boxing Team according to sources .

Consumer Affairs Authority Has Announced The New Retail Prices Of Bottled Drinking Water

The Consumer Affairs Authority has today (30) announced the maximum retail prices of Bottled Drinking Water selling in Sri Lanka.

Accordingly a  Drinking Water Bottle containing 350 Mili Liters to 499 Mili Liters of water should be sold for Rs. 26 ,500 to 749 Mili Liter Drinking Water bottle should be sold for Rs.35 and 750 to 999 Mili Liter water bottle should be sold for Rs.40.

The maximum  retail price of 1 Liter
 and 499 Mili Liter water bottle should be Rs.50  and price of a  7 Liter Drinking Water Bottle should be Rs.170 .
An Extraordinary Gazette Notification has been issued in this regard according to Consumer Affairs Authority .
