Seven Females Attached to A Dambulla Company Had Fallen Sick Due To A Food Poisoning

Seven females attached to a Spices Manufacturing Company at Pannampitiya ,Dambulla had suddenly  fallen sick after consuming their morning meal this morning (29).

The sicken females have been admitted to Lenadora Provincial Hospital for treatment.

Their Condition is not critical it has been revealed.

Authorities believe that this incident occurred as a result of food poisoning. 

Government To Restrict Imports /Suspend The Issuance Of Duty Free Car Permits For MP's For A One Year And To Take More Actions To Protect The Economy

Government has decided to restrict
some imports to the Country  and to take few major actions regarding the state sector to control the pressure that affects Sri Lankan Economy due to the depreciation of Sri Lankan Rupee against the US Dollar ,with effect from midnight tonight (29) Ministry Of Finance and Mass Media has announced.

Accotingly government has decided to suspend the importation of new vehicles for Minister's,State Departments, Statutory Boards,All state Institutes  and Public Enterprises until further notice , impose 100 percent cash margin for en importing Air conditioners, Refrige rators  ,TV's,Phones (Mobile and Land),Perfumes ,Tyres and shoes,suspend the issuance of Duty Free vehicle permits  for Parliamentarians for a one year period, Suspend the issuance of concessionary Vehicle permits to Government service employees for six month period and dropped the leasing rate of Hybrid vehicles from 70 percent to 50 percent.

Government will monitor the Exchange rates closely and take necessary acations to protect the economy according to the Ministry.

A Female Was Killed Due To A Wild Elephant Attack

As the Elephant -Human conflict
continues, A Female Was Killed due to a Wild Elephant attack at Kalingawila in Polonnaruwa this morning  (29).

The incident occurred when a Wild Elephant entered the village in search of food had attacked the 44 year old female while she was in her garden it has been revealed.

The body of the deceased had been sent to Welikanda Hospital.

Eleven Tea Pluckers Have Been Injured And Hospitalized Due To A Wasp Attack

Eleven Tea Pluckers attached to a Tea
Estate in Bagawanthalawa area have been injured and Hospitalized due to a Wasp attack while plucking tea leaves at the Estate yesterday  (29).

The injured including Nine Female Tea Pluckers and Two male Tea Pluckers have been admitted to the Bagawanthalawa Provincial Hospital for treatment .

The majority of the injured Tea Pluckers had left the Hospital after receiving OPD Treatment it has been revealed.
